HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) -What started out as a possible window tint violation landed 3 people in custody on weapons and drug charges. On Tuesday, around 10:15 A.M., a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office stopped a gray Dodge car for a possible window tint violation near the 5900 block of Brainerd Road. The driver pulled into the parking lot of the Cube Smart Storage. The driver was identified as Demarius Patrick, and as the deputy was talking to the driver, a strong smell of marijuana was coming from the car. Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Former Heritage High School grad Cole Wilcox took the mound against the Chattanooga Lookouts Wednesday at AT&T Field. Wilcox was the starting pitcher for the Montgomery Biscuits. He wound up with a no decision in the Biscuits 6-5 win in ten innings. Montgomery held a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 6th when Quincy McAfee doubled home two runs off Wilcox to tie the game. Wilcox pitched six innings with five strikeouts and three earned runs. The topic of debate on Wednesday at the legal committee of the Hamilton County Commission is who should get to choose who picks various administrators. CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- A new mechanism to fund future Hamilton County school construction was introduced Wednesday morning. If passed at the next Commission meeting, up to 250 million dollars in bonds would be issued to fund various school projects across the county. Downtown Bridge now gets weight limitation after inspection

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – TDOT is putting a weight restriction on an old bridge in the downtown area. The east 11th Street bridge is raises the road over a railroad right of way between Peeples and Magnolia Streets. It’s a couple of blocks south of MLK Boulevard. Inspectors have put a limit of 34 tons per vehicle over the bridge, effective immediately. Warning signs will go up around the bridge in the next week.
