The Board of Governors for Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education today unanimously selected Dr. Jon Anderson to serve as the next president of Pennsylvania Western University. Monday morning, officials from Erie’s Public Schools broke ground on a new Edison Elementary School on the city’s lower east side. The building will have updated classrooms, a separate gym and cafeteria, room for community school services, and a parent circular driveway. The cost of construction is slated to be 35 million dollars, built with all local Erie prime contractors, facilitating dozens of local union jobs.
