Monday morning, officials from Erie’s Public Schools broke ground on a new Edison Elementary School on the city’s lower east side. The building will have updated classrooms, a separate gym and cafeteria, room for community school services, and a parent circular driveway. The cost of construction is slated to be 35 million dollars, built with all local Erie prime contractors, facilitating dozens of local union jobs.
