COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKBN) - Three former local football coaches were named to the Ohio High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Monday night. They include former Canfield head coach Mike Pavlansky, former Lisbon head coach Jim Tsilimos, and former Mount Union head coach Larry Kehres. Pavlansky spent 41 years in high school football coaching at three different programs (Canfield, Mentor and Lisbon). NEW CASTLE, Pa., (WKBN) -- The Pennsylvania State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating a fatal fire at an apartment in New Castle. New Castle Assistant Fire Chief Craig Wethlie says a 70-year-old woman died in a third-floor fire at Vista South Apartments on S. Mercer Street. The cause of the fire hasn't been determined yet. Wethlie says the fire department got the call just before 4 p.m. and left around 6 p.m. At that time, the Fire Marshal and Lawrence County Coroner were still there. YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) - Last week, Youngstown Mayor Tito Brown gave owners a Monday deadline to make a decision on the future of the Realty Building after it suffered devastating damage by a gas explosion -- and the decision has been made to demolish it. (WKBN) - A storm moving through the area has knocked down several trees and caused power outages across the area. The City of Hubbard sent out an emergency alert Monday afternoon that "trees are down all over the city," and flash flooding was an issue as well. Tree limbs came down over power lines and two vehicles on W. Liberty Street, closing a portion of Route 304. WKBN found trees down along Logan Way in Liberty Township as well. BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) - Some playground equipment is getting replaced at Imagination Station in Bazetta Township. A $300,000 state grant will help pay to upgrade and replace playground equipment at the park off of Warren-Meadville Road. Imagination Station was built in 1995 with a useful life expectancy of 20 years. The upgrades will bring the playground up to current ADA guidelines, according to township trustees.
