AKRON, Ohio (WJW) - Trustees at the University of Akron have agreed to increase tuition and general service fees for new students starting this fall. During a budgeting meeting on Wednesday, trustees agreed to increase tuition from $531 to $547 per credit hour. That is an increase of 3%. AKRON, Ohio (WJW) — Officials have released the identity of a man who was shot and killed in Akron over the weekend. The shooting took place Saturday, June 8 at about 3:30 p.m. Officers were called to the corner of Raymond and Bartges Streets. Upon arrival, they found a man who had been shot in the back. Officials said he was pronounced dead at the scene. During the press conference, Akron Police Chief Brian Harding confirmed that a 28th victim has been identified as a 36-year-old woman.
