MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — A more than 250-year-old house in Morgantown has been awarded $15,000 for restoration by the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia. Kerns Fort may look like a normal two-story family house, but the structure actually has a deep history and is even on the National Register of Historic Places. WESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — On June 6, 2024—the 80th anniversary of D-Day, World War II veteran and Fairmont native Asa Davison passed away, just months after he celebrated his 100th birthday in Monongah. "He's our guy here at the museum," Mountaineer Military Museum Director Barb McVaney said. "Just a joy, and we loved him dearly." BECKLEY, W.Va. (WVNS) — A woman was arrested on Tuesday, June 11 in relation to the death of twin babies that happened in southern West Virginia back in February. Thirty-year-old Olivia Moore was arrested on Tuesday, June 11 on two counts of child neglect causing death. The girls, Ava and Amina Johnson, were two years old.
