MILWAUKEE – Festa Italiana 2024 features a Milwaukee company bringing Italian wines to the shores of Lake Michigan. Michael Lo Duca recently purchased ownership of his family’s business, Lo Duca Wines.
“We’re now looking to reach the next generation in upcoming years,” Lo Duca said.
Lo Duca told WTMJ his grandparents, who emigrated to the United States from Italy, started the business in 1941- but not as a winemaking operation.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Willy Adames hit an RBI single in the 10th inning and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the White Sox 4-3 on Saturday to extend Chicago’s losing streak to 10 games.
Adames also had a two-out, two-run single in the seventh inning.
“It was a good win,” Brewers manager Pat Murphy said. “It could have gone the other way real quick.”

PORT WASHINGTON – An investigation is underway after the death of an inmate early Saturday morning while he was in custody at the Ozaukee County Jail.
According to the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Department, at around 2:30 a.m. a 36-year-old man from Milwaukee who was being held at the Ozaukee County Jail was found dead in a holding cell. The department has not released his name as next of kin have not been notified. No further information has been released about the man’s condition or how he died.

SHEBOYGAN – A man is in the hospital after being shot by Sheboygan Police Friday evening. According to the Sheboygan Police Department, the shooting happened after a nearly 2-hour stand-off with a 32-year-old man suspected of a stabbing.
The man was shot after reportedly charging at officers with a knife. Sheboygan police say officers only fired their guns after attempting less lethal means to incapacitate the man.

MADISON – In 2011, Act 10 tightly restricted most collective bargaining for public employees. Now, union groups are fighting to have the law struck down.
Wisconsin unions have submitted a lawsuit to strike down Act 10, arguing it makes unconstitutional exceptions for some occupations to have collective bargaining while others do not. The State Legislature has submitted a challenge to the suit, arguing that it should not be heard.

MILWAUKEE – From July 15th-18th the Republican National Convention will engulf downtown Milwaukee. When thousands of visitors will be in downtown Milwaukee, guns will be legally allowed within the proposed ‘soft’ security zone for the convention; per Wisconsin law.
Milwaukee City Attorney Evan Goyke told WTMJ it would be difficult for the Common Council to restrict guns in the area even if they wanted to.

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Police Department are requesting the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection to a robbery that occurred Tuesday, May 25th, at 9:13 a.m., near the intersection of 27th St. and Holt on Milwaukee’s southwest side.
The suspect took currency from a financial institution at gunpoint and fled on foot northbound. Milwaukee Police have not confirmed the institution that the suspect robbed, but the area includes a Tri City National Bank location, Self-Help Federal Credit Union, and a Jackson Hewitt Tax Service location.
