The Wildcats beat Illinois 6-1 on a rain soaked day at Kentucky Proud park in front of over 6,000 fans.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – One local foundation, the Bright Light Foundation, is holding its first Families Fighting Fentanyl event.
The event began at 5 p.m. at the Moondance Amphitheatre.
The purpose is to bring awareness to the fentanyl crisis in the U.S. and in Kentucky and to educate people on the statistics of kids, teens, young adults and adults dying from fentanyl.
Cheyenne Helm, the founder of Bright Light Foundation, started the foundation after she lost her child Brighton in 2023 from fentanyl poisoning.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — The guilty verdict handed down in Former President Donald Trump’s historic hush money criminal trial leading to plenty of reaction from both sides of the aisle.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – It was a day to celebrate, the UK Markey Cancer Center held “Expressions of Courage”, its annual National Cancer Survivor’s Day event.
Two survivors spoke about their battles, after first learning they had cancer.
“You’re just kind of floored that this is a reality,” said survivor Sarah Lister. “It takes awhile to accept that this is happening to you.
She was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2016.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWSNOW) — Lexington Animal Care and Control is searching for a suspect after they found 13 puppies on the side of Todds Road near North Cleveland.
Animal Cruelty Investigator Lieutenant Jai Hamilton says three puppies were alive when they arrived at the scene on Wednesday. Since then, all have died due to their injuries.
“I would describe the scene as a murder scene,” Lt. Hamilton said. “It was very difficult for me to see personally, and for our staff to go through seeing the puppies in distress with burn marks on them.”

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Joe Biden said Friday that his predecessor, Donald Trump, was found guilty and “it’s reckless, it’s dangerous, it’s irresponsible, for anyone to say this is rigged just because they don’t like the verdict.”
His comments came the day after the conclusion of Trump’s criminal trial in New York, when the former president was convicted on all 34 felony charges in a hush money case stemming from the 2016 election.

NEW YORK (AP) — A day after a New York jury delivered a historic guilty verdict in Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee held a press conference Friday where he spoke publicly about the conviction and his White House bid.
