The Montgomery County Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites Department is currently undertaking the of master plan for Lorimer Park. Lorimer Park includes 230 acres of land located within Abington Township and is Montgomery County’s oldest county park, dating back to 1938. The park is noted for its variety of landscapes and features including the “Council Rock” outcropping, vast forested areas, open meadows, and two tributaries of water – The Pennypack Creek as well as Harpers Run.
