  Woodward Architects have transformed a mundane 1970s beach house into an extraordinary family home. Located in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the architects sought to enhance the house’s connection to the outdoors and celebrate the building’s existing DNA wherever possible.       A high ceiling can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on which way you look at it. Just ask Zuza and Piotr Paradowski of Krakow-based design office Paradowski Studio, whose latest project, a 250-square-metre apartment in Poznan (a former Prussian medieval city situated on the banks of the Warta River), and more specifically, its five-metre ceiling, was a little bit of both. Ross Gardam took over a brutalist space ‘under construction’ to present the studio’s latest editioned pieces. The elegant objects take centre stage against the distressed concrete architecture including the Ora Desk Lamp pictured above.   A new product for the studio, the Mass table is an assemblage of natural and industrial forms, including waste stone offcuts that ground the object in stasis.   Casa Los Tigres is a home with many facades. To the streets of Culiacán’s Nuevo Vallarta, it presents itself as a closed-off private residence; solid walls with minimal punctures impose a high level of privacy from the small beachside town. Beyond, it uses order and vertical elements to set up a contemporary home with carefully curated moments towards the traditional Mexican central courtyard. A three-bedroom 132-square-metre renovation set within Singapore’s Brutalist Sherwood Towers, Moving House exudes the colourful preferences and personality of the client.
