Why I Love Nordgreen Watches (and three reasons you will too.)

Watches are my favourite accessory. I love the how they look, feel and not having to take my phone out of my back to check the time is important to me, especially when I’m trying to limit my screen time. I have a small collection of watches, it’s one I add to whenever something extra-beautiful catches my eye. Nordgreen design high quality, Scandinavian design watches and their range is a real feast for the eyes. When they invited me to receive a watch to review I knew exactly which style to go for. I chose the Infinity watch with the gold mesh strap – a style that works beautifully for dressed ..read more

Vegan & Cruelty Free Skincare from Typology
So Victoria

Skincare that is truly cruelty free and vegan is rare. Even brands that claim to tick both boxes are merely exploiting loopholes and it often takes some research to discover the truth. As someone that is completely committed to only using products that are strictly free from animal exploitation, I relish any opportunity to experience, share and review brands and products that are ethically produced as well as achieving results. So let’s get stuck in to my 100% honest review of the Typology range. The skincare in the this review was gifted, I was not asked to share any content in return. Howeve ..read more

So, this was my July 2020
So Victoria

I’m not going to lie, I found myself in a little bit of a funk in July. Don’t get me wrong, I’m an intorvert, so lockdown does have it’s benefits for me. For some reason the arrival of August always makes me feel like it’s nearly Christmas. I think it might be a leftover habit from my Teaching days and August meant that that the new academic year was about to start and the next time I would breathe would be Christmas. The feeling that it’s nearly Christmas leaves me feeling panicked about achieving all I had planned for the year within the next three months. So, I make loads of lists, become o ..read more

So, This Is My May 2020
So Victoria

There’s no time like lockdown to return to my more traditional blog feature. May 2020 started with a mini summer-like heatwave and ended with the same sunshine fulfilled days. It certainly has been a new phase in lockdown living. I make it no secret that my ridiculously introverted, home-body brain quite enjoys being advised to stay home all the time. With that said, it doesn’t stop the worry we all feel for our missed loved-ones. One of my more positive habits has been to start writing down my daily gratitudes and it is so eye opening to focus on all that we have! I’ve not been too keen on my ..read more

Book Review: RHS The Rose by Brent Elliott
So Victoria

Throughout lockdown I have looked for the positives.  Silver linings are an important way to work though uncertainty and rediscovering reading and books has been a real pleasure through the last few weeks. So when I was offered the opportunity to review RHS’s The Rose by Brent Elliott I leapt at the chance to indulge in some relaxing reading whilst widening my knowledge of my favourite bloom, the rose. The Rose by Brent Elliott The book is A4 and hard-backed. I’ve become something of a snob about book bindings as I’ve got older and a hardback is always my preferred choice. It’s sturdy an ..read more

This is post is part of a paid partnership with Silentnight. I can’t begin to tell you how important good sleep is to me and I’m now at a point in life where I am pretty determined to make the most of my dreaming hours in any way I can. Sleep keeps us physically healthy; keeping our immune system in tip-top shape, contributing to ensuring our heart is tickety-boo and helping us to manage mood. It’s no wonder I can never get enough. But here’s the thing, I’m not a great sleeper. I sleep lightly, disturbed by the smallest of sounds, movements or light and I struggle to keep a comfortable tempera ..read more

Everyday Lookism at the Anti-Diet Riot Fest 2020
So Victoria

In January I attended the Anti-Diet Riot Fest 2020 and discovered a new campaign called Everyday Lookism. As soon as I saw the aims of the project and the stories shared, I knew I wanted to share it, so here goes with a very personal opening. I struggle with the way that I look and I know very few people who don’t. I’m plump, unsymmetrical and I just don’t look like a woman ‘should’, you know, slender but curvy, firm tanned skin and all the rest of the enhanced, photoshopped perfection that none of us seem to look like. I thought it would get easier as I got older and the pressures of beauty w ..read more
