Should You Buy Stocks Before Christmas?

There is some definite bias to be long before the holidays.  I want to see what days work best when buying the S & P 500 Mini or ES using simple stats. This is not a trading system and there are no stops so I wouldn’t go crazy especially since the market is looking so weak.  Of course see my disclaimer below as I am not responsible for any trades taken.  Anyways lets get into the numbers to see if we should buy stocks before Christmas. Buying ES X Days before Christmas  One Day Before Xmas mean returns are: 150.00 One Day Before Xmas median returns are: 25.00 % Up day T ..read more

Heikin Ashi is a form of Japanese Candlesticks used for charting.  It was said to be created by a man with the name of Homma.  Traders have been using Heikin Ashi candles for years. Heikin Ashi candlesticks averages the Open, High, Low and Close to form a trend-like candlestick.  It can be helpful to filter out some of the market noise. Heikin Ashi is also known to help a trader find reversals in a market.  Here I will go over a few markets on the daily chart to see if I can find anything that is worth using.   In the article we will talk about Quant trading with Heik ..read more

Welcome to my third installment of my live trading performance.  Here I will be showing my live trades taken for the month.  If you like this let me know.  Doing this every month helps me keep tabs on my own trading and I also enjoy talking about it.  Also I took a vacation to Tennessee for 9 days and I just got back so I feel relaxed and ready to work.  It was my first vacation in awhile.     Can’t Stop Won’t Stop Also I am happy to announce I will not quit trading.  In a post from a few months ago I mentioned how I would quit trading if I was not profitable in six months.  That really made m ..read more

Welcome to my second installment of my live trading performance.  Here I will be talking about my live trades taken for the month.  This month was a roller coaster as far as trading goes.  Got hit hard by the ES volatility during the first few days of the month but managed to pull it out with a profit by the end of the month.    Performance In August I made $367.25.  Also started trading the MES live portfolio (micro ES) which was where I got my first couple of losses.  I went long on August 1st and pretty much held a few days which was a killer.  Ended up losing -$1558.75 on the trade.  I ..read more

My Live Trading Performance for July 2019

My Trades I am going to start a monthly trade performance blog.  I am doing this as a check to make sure I am going over this every month, and I am sure people are curious how “normal” traders perform.  Normal because I am not raking in 30 thousand per month like most claim.  Sure there are trades who make more than that, but it is more rare than not. In July I made $407. Only six trades were taken and did not trade 2 of my planned trades which is okay. Of those 6 trades I followed the signals exactly on 5 and I got into 1 late which was already a loss that got out for a win.   Still made a pr ..read more
