I have my 1/4 rates to pay and a bulk mix for my dogs this fortnight coming. So this next fortnight is going to be tight for me. I am so glad I do have a well stocked pantry and am growing herbs and garlic, Eygptian onions (walking onions), Silver beet and broad beans. This gives me the ability to not need to buy much this fortnight. I have also enough meat for the dogs for three weeks which will take me to my next payment. Yesterday I realised I was decling in my mental well being. I am so appreciative that I am well enough to notice and hopefully reduce impact or triggers. I am l ..read more

I was thinking about money today. After reading that for me to have a comfortable retirement I will need to have about $500,000 in superannuation, plus a part pension. Well that is not likely to happen! If I lived in a city I perhaps could need that sort of money. If I had grand plans to jet off abroad every year maybe. If I wanted to go out for dinner, theatre, have weekends away in places that are beautiful and a change. I have done all these things often over my working life and did have enjoyment by doing it. You know what, I don't remember most of the movies I paid to see, or the ..read more

The garden was calling today, blue sky and still for a while. I was not feeling like spending time in the garden as I was just feeling quite flat. I looked at my seedlings that remain to be planted out. The zucchini and some brassicas were really needing to go out, or at least into a larger pot. As to the lettuce I got at crop swap. I figured that if I was going to transplant them I should put them in the garden and not pot them up. I gathered my supplies the seedlings with the aim to complete the planting of these and not stop until most were in. With the wind dropping off and the s ..read more

What a weird beginning to my day...I slept for 16 + hours and woke at 1pm really strange. I was meant to be going to a wedding at 4pm. The wedding was 11/2hours away from where I live. I had a shower, had brunch, and then dressed ready to leave, allowing enough time to get to the venue. I was not feeling good, perhaps due to having slept so long. I had been anxious about going as I lately my illness has made me more reclusive especially in big groups. I ended up having a major panic attack heart racing, sweating, and realised that as much as I wanted to be there for my friend, it was no ..read more

Today Saturday was a get together I used to enjoy before my breakdown. A friend holds a crop swap in her shed the aim is to grow share and save seed of heritage varieties without chemicals. Encouraging local food supplies, fresh, and seasonal production. It is a wonderful community event that goes for about 1 and half hours. It is all about sharing things to do with food growing production using and things that help to do that.. I had some pumpkin, oregano, soap wort, seedlings to share. There were about 20 people a few children and a dog. (my guys were in the car) For so earl ..read more

Hi I'm Tazzie G, Tasmania the beautiful island state of Australia is where I call home. As I type rain is heavy on my tin roof, wind is blowing gale force, I am awed by the trees yet wonder if some may snap as they flex and bend to the winds will. Accompanying the noise of the rain and wind, snoring and snuffling can be heard from my two contented dogs. Who lie asleep near me, after a morning of exercise and playing. I like the wind, feeling so lucky to have this beautiful roof over my head. Part of the river near where I live
