Shade Loving Polka Dot Plant Shade container plants… Spring is here and we’re all under a stay-at-home order. Besides food, the one other thing constantly on my mind is the beautiful Spring weather upon us and the idea of getting my hands into the dirt. Maybe it’s a reminder of life continuing on, but I can’t wait to get some annuals, perennials and even shrubs into pots on the deck and the porch. We spend a lot of time on our covered front porch in the summer and although bright, there is no direct light. I love coming up with new ideas for beautiful container plants for the shade. My experience with Invisalign: Like many of you, I had braces as a teen. For decades my teeth stayed relatively the same. Sure, I’ve had some issues with dental health. In my 20’s I went through a period with no dental insurance and skipped the dentist for years. At that age, we can see ourselves as quite indestructible. Mainly due to the multiple fillings I received after that period in my life, I’ve had some expensive repairs. But around age 50, something different seemed to be happening. Teeth clenching My dentist mentioned my teeth looked like I’d been clenching them . He aske ..read more

A need to reach out and connect regarding the Coronavirus I woke up this morning ready to write a different post that I had been planning in my head the past few days. But I feel very distracted, as I’m sure many of you do, no matter where you live. So, I decided to write this post instead, for today. At my age, I have learned (or try to remember) not to stress too much over things I cannot control. But, I am a daughter, a mother and a wife, like many of you. And if not for ourse ..read more

photo: Ian Keefe on UnsplashBrowsing on Facebook, a while back, I saw a post from a college friend named Honey. It was a bit of text saying that she and her husband, Chip had sold their home and all of their belongings and had moved on to their sailboat. They were setting off to live their dream and cruise the East Coast. We hadn’t kept up enough over the years and I was distracted and busy and moved on. But it stuck with me and nibbled at me. Could this be true? So many questions kept popping into my head. She had her own business, but gave that up? They have young adult kids. How did they ..read more

Great Style at Any Age & What You Can Learn From an Expert
Menopausal Brunette

In my 40’s I started asking the question, “Is this too young for me?”. Now, in my 50’s I’ve started wondering if I’m getting lazy with my “fashion over 50”. If you’re like me, you don’t want to have to spend too much time getting ready in the morning, you want comfort but you want to feel good in what you’re wearing, too. We should be better equipped than ever at our age to show off our personal style with flair. I wanted to take a hard look at my closet and yes, pare it down. But I also wanted to learn a little from someone with more expertise than I have. And I was hoping for some inspiratio ..read more
