Pattern and Fabric Selection
As soon as the sun begins to warm up and the temperatures become milder, I have an irresistible urge to wear dresses with sandals. Whether at work or at home, it’s the epitome of comfort for me.
That’s why, for this spring project, I opted to make the A-line dress from Butterick B6551 pattern. This dress, straight and roomy, features slightly scooped shoulders, a high collar at the front opening, and pleats under the upper back yoke. It’s a quick and easy model to make.
For the choice of fabric, I was looking for a solid color without a pattern. My attention ..read more

I’ve made myself a classic House Dress… it’s a faux wrap dress from Butterick 6727, in this Around Town – Townhouses cotton.
This print makes me think of Bergen or St. John’s or Kyiv!
This was a pretty simple project but it took a bit of time thanks to the special details. I made View B, with piping trim and a below knee length. The dress is a faux wrap, with the crossover bodice and skirt both sewn shut together at the waistline seam and then tacked down by the buttons along the front. Which are also faux — they are stitched on through all layers at the very end, the closure is ac ..read more

When we think “spring”, we image sunshine, blue skies, warmth and renewal. We long to breath fresh air, bask in the sun and shed the layers that were our comfort during months of deep freeze. We want to step out of the sheltering cocoon, spread our wings and soar. Some of us have been preparing for the first warm spring days in the depth of winter by looking through fashion trends, sewing patterns and new fabric arrivals at fabricville.com. I am honored to present the dreamy blue sundress, a plan that came to fruition in just a few days.
Sincerely, this sundress was one of the quickest projec ..read more

This spring, social networks are bursting with inspiration for linen vest-trouser ensembles. It’s the perfect casual outfit for the beautiful days ahead.
I was immediately charmed when the Butterick pattern by Lisette B6901 appeared last year. The vest features false welt pockets on the front and two ties on the back. Although I like the pants offered in this pattern, it’s not the most flattering style for my figure. For my pants, I opted for the Simplicity S9647 pattern. It’s a pants pattern with a flat front and straight legs.
Every spring, I look forward to Fabricville’s new linen collect ..read more

Hello sewing enthusiasts! I’m Yvette, writing a guest post here. Usually you’ll find me at www.sewwhatyvette.com, where I post about my sewing adventures (and other stuff).
I Sewed a 3-Piece Mini Capsule
That’s why I’m here! Some of Fabricville’s newest fabrics from their flyer intrigued and excited me, and I sewed a few things! From the flyer I chose 1 “bottom weight” and 2 coordinating “top weights” to become a 3-piece mini capsule. Then, as a Jalie Creative Ambassador I chose to use 2 patterns that are my TNT’s (tried and true); Eleonore Pull-on Jeans ..read more

Some of this year’s Spring fashion trends include floral patterns and neutral tones. I was inspired by Fabricville’s new collection for my latest project.
The pattern
I chose the McCall’s 7925 pattern, it caught my eye because of the floral dress on the cover. But I also love a good shirt dress, and this one has raglan sleeves, a ruffled skirt panel and beautiful piping details for a little something extra.

The fabric
This light weight rayon linen fabric has an ultra soft hand and a fluid drape. The minute I saw it I knew it was the o ..read more

Hello fellow sewists,
The sunny days of spring have me wanting to spend more time outdoors, and sewing up activewear is the perfect motivation to get some exercise while enjoying the warmer weather.
I was elated to discover that Fabricville is now carrying PURELUX and DRYFLEX, which are Bluesign® approved fabrics. I did some research and the Bluesign® approval is the gold standard for sustainable textiles.

Sorry, this entry is only available in French.

Pattern and Fabric Choice
To kick off the spring season in sewing, I decided to make the tunic from Butterick pattern B6982. It’s loose-fitting, with a mock neck, gathers at the neckline, a slit opening at the neck, and raglan sleeves adorned with buttoned cuffs. I adore the airy and billowy look of the sleeves! And the straight collar adds just the right touch of chic.
I opted for this gorgeous embroidered voile fabric, made of polyester and cotton. With its slight transparency and soft texture, it offers perfect fluidity for the upcoming warm season. In red, my favorite hue, it embodies pa ..read more

For my latest autumn creation, I felt the daring urge to dive into the world of snake print. Often associated with a dash of boldness and sophistication to spice up clothing and accessories, this reptilian pattern injects a unique energy into an outfit. As a devoted follower of classic style, the idea of embracing a full snake print look initially seemed a bit too extravagant. However, by opting for fabric in rich tones like the carefully claret crepe, I discovered that such audacity could bring a surprising touch of elegance.
During my pattern search, I was drawn to this long buttoned tunic ..read more
