Lettuce does not grow very high and also has a short but relatively dense root system. Both of these traits are ideal for hydroponics. Lettuce does not need to be tied off or staked. If you have a head of lettuce, generally it takes 42 days 45 days to get to harvest. With aquaponics we can get it there in 35 to 42 days, so were conserving several days. We can collect plants every 7 to 12 days if were doing microgreens. Just a bit of plumbing, a grow bed, grow media, starter plants, some fish, and light.
