Hey All! I don't know if you noticed, but I didn't write a blog last week. I've been working on getting things set up on the new web provider site. It's a whole new experience. Eventually the name MagicMotorsports.net will lead there. Until then, enjoy this website as it is! In the mean time, I have been dealing with a whole lot of issues with my car, so rather than spend the extra money and have someone else fix stuff, I've been working on it myself. In doing so, I've spent a lot of hours watching YT videos that explain exactly how to do what I need to do. All it takes is t ..read more

Soon There Will Be A Change
Magic Motorsports

Hey all! Over the past few weeks we here at Magic Motorsports have been discussing a potential new website host. The Big Bossman, Mike, wants a site that has a series of drop-down boxes that allow users to quickly find parts for their vehicle. The design we have now doesn't have that option. Time for a change!! We should be starting the new site this week and starting the arduous process of uploading all of our products and images all over again... Looks like my job will never end.. I guess that's a good thing right? Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that there will be chan ..read more

Hey All! As I write this, the first of October is on us! The weather has been cold and rainy for the past week, but this week is supposed to be in the 80's! Talk about an Indian Summer. If you haven't been able to get out and ride, this week is the perfect time. There are a whole bunch of things happening, so let's take a look and see for ourselves! On October 13th, Redbud Motocross Track has open riding! The weather may not be all that great because we just have a short window of nice weather right before the cold comes back, but it might be worthwhile anyway! Here's the link to ch ..read more

Hey All! This year has just flown by hasn't it? We are already at the end of September and it feels like time keeps speeding up. Or am I the only one that feels that way? Anyway, with Autumn here, it's time for the normal changeover of clothes in the storefront and finishing up all the summer races. Speaking of races, have you been over to michiganmotocross.com yet? If you live in Michigan (like us) then it's a good resource to learn about what races are available and where they are held. This Saturday, the 28th of September, Polka Dots MC is running a D14 vintage race. It's open ..read more

How Does An Engine Work?
Magic Motorsports
by

Hey All! Have you ever wondered about the engines that we have powering us along the tracks, trails and roads? We totally take them for granted and complain when they stop working. If you're anything like me, "we" take them to mechanics in order to get them working again. So that begs the question, do we really know anything about the history of the engine and how they actually work? That's what this blog post is all about! Let's jump in! I already went through the History of Gasoline, and some of that information is applicable here as well, so this blog will be more of a continua ..read more

Hey All! This blog post is going off the trails... literally! I've been fascinated by a couple channels on Youtube recently. One is called Trillium Wild Edibles and features all sorts of videos that deal specifically with edible weeds, veggies, fruits and berries. The information this guy gives is fantastic! The other one is Learn Your Land and features a very high level of information regarding the chemical makeup, specific vitamins and minerals and ways to cook and eat all sorts of wild edibles. I want to touch on 6 wild edibles that can be found on the trails with this blog post ..read more

The Importance Of Regular Maintenance
Magic Motorsports

Hey All! Regular maintenance is one of those things that can sneak right by us without some sort of reminder to keep us on track. (I'm definitely including myself in that statement!) So today I wanted to highlight some of the reasons for regular maintenance and what the key areas are that need regular attention. Engine Oil First up is engine oil. It's the most common item that needs regular changing. (This applies to all gas run vehicles.) For dirt bikes and ATVs, the oil is pretty much the same. Obviously, you need to know which kind to get based on where and how it's being ridden. T ..read more

Hey All! I don't know how I did it, but I actually forgot to write a blog post yesterday! I know what you're thinking, "What the heck is wrong with you??" Well, I'm gonna try to make it up to you and discuss VP racing fuels today! We carry a few of the small barrels and this post will go into the details regarding what they are good for and what their specs are. So let's get started shall we? We carry at least 5 different types of racing fuel in store. (There is a glossary at the end for terms you may not know) VP113 is an oxygenated fuel formulated for naturally aspirated engin ..read more

When Was Gas First Used And Where Does It Come From?

Hey All! Second times the charm! So I just had one of those seriously disheartening things happen to me. I had just finished a huge blog post about gasoline and where it comes from, how it's made and who first used it, and then the system logged me out as I was going through and making sure it looked perfect... sigh... So let's start again! So what is gasoline anyway? Well apparently it's a byproduct of crude oil refinery. That of course begs the question, What is crude oil and where does it come from? You may already be familiar with the big oil rigs that are all over the worl ..read more

What Is A Nerf Bar?
Magic Motorsports
by

Hey all! Over the past month I've been concentrating on getting old stock put up on the eBay store. Some of that stock has been Nerf Bars. I figured this would be a great time to get into what they are, what they're used for and where they came from. So here goes: First off, what exactly is a "Nerf"? Interestingly, it has nothing to do with plastic guns that shoot foam darts. In racing circles, a nerf is when one vehicle bumps into another vehicle in order to gain a turn or psychological advantage. Often, they are intentional bumps and slow the bumped vehicle down so the "bumpe ..read more
