Moon Phases Mosaic Sep 2023 Challenge

In June 2023, my friend and colleague CZT Dolly Bolen very kindly invited me to be a part of their Facebook Group Moon Phases Mosaic Challenge. Each month, a Certified Zentangle(R) Teacher from the community throws a challenge to the rest of us, and we play with the string and tangle suggestions. The strings are interesting and chosen tangles help us to get out the initial hurdle of “where to start” from the minds of artists and just keep us moving. Each Tangler showcase their best skill and talent for the challenge. At times, its not about just the end piece of the art, but also they share th ..read more

Exploring Fragment H5

I have picked up my second best Zentangle Journal that I received at my Teacher’s Training Zentangle Seminar in Year 2018. I was really not a journal person then, so I kept it lurking in my bookshelf for a really long time. On and off I kept trying something out, but never really focused on finishing a book. But, I don’t know, but this Year 2024, I am like so so inspired to complete all my Sketchbooks! I started something in Year 2023, then again dug into it many times a year (just for my sake), but it is now that I HAVE TO GET THIS DONE…….:-D A day before I finished exploring one of the fragm ..read more

As you guys know, we are still on a long summer vacation, at my parents home. Whenever I find time, I am indulging in some art work. My new obsession is adding copper paints to the Black Zentile. It is really super fun to play with the paints and the beautiful white pen just gleams through the Zentile. Here’s one of my Zentile I have tried playing with tiny bit with some gold paint too. My obsession with copper paint started last year in Dec-Jan 2021, after which I launched Zen Coppering Session. I had a full class of 13 students taking this fun session. It was fun exploring the new process ..read more

HeartiZen2022 – Day8 – Tangle Heartfelt

On Day8 of Heartizen2022, we play with Tangle Heartfelt deconstructed by me. I was inspired by Tangle Tamisolo deconstructed by CZT Hanny Waldburger (Zenjoy). She has deconstructed lovely tangle patterns, that we often use (abundies, icantoo, fluxoge, etc) and in her blog here you can find the original step-out of all her tangle patterns. However, the step-outs of tangle heartfelt is much different from Tamisolo. Tangle Heartfelt is a one-stroke tangle pattern very simple tangle pattern. I wanted to include this tangle pattern in HeartiZen2022 series, as it forms this beautiful shape of a hear ..read more

On Day8 of Heartizen2022, we play with Tangle Heartwrap deconstructed by me. Heartwrap is a very simple One-Stroke Tangle Pattern . It has a heart shape, wrapped with Tangle Mooka. I was inspired by Tangle Rashell deconstructed by CZT Lin Chiu. When I was playing with Tangle Rashell; that’s when I thought of Heart-Wrap. Later I dug into my pattern sketchbook; where I found that Heartwrap also looked similar to Tangle Tint by CZT Henrike Bratz. Here's the step-out of the tangle pattern:     I enjoyed playing Tangle Heartwrap in many ways on my sketchbook. In future, I plan to play mo ..read more

On Day7 of Heartizen2022, we play with Tangle Namody deconstructed by CZT Simone Menzel. This is what she says, on her blog – “The name of my tangle is NAMODY - dedicated to my favourite soccer team which is likely moving up into the higher league because of its amazing performance this season.” Here's the step-out of the tangle pattern:     I enjoyed playing Tangle Namody in many ways. They were the protocols, but each time I started playing with Tangle Namody, it turned out differently. Thus, showing all of them here. ?   Tangle Namody with catkin and dugwood   ..read more

On Day5 of Heartizen2022, we play with Tangle Zinja deconstructed by CZT Terri Delaune. Terri and I have been long-time friends, though we are from different countries and have known each other only through Zentangle. When I was very new on Zentangle Mosaic App; I was pretty shy to share my unpolished and just beginning of artworks in this amazing group of artists, but Terri and a few of my other friends encouraged me so much; that I kept drawing every day or think about next Zentangle every hour. I then, never knew, that we might actually meet up someday. In the Year 2018, when I made a solo ..read more

On Day6 of Heartizen2022, we play with Tangle SandS (S+S) deconstructed by CZT Mei Hua Teng (Damy). This is the second of her tangle pattern that we have used in this HeartiZen Series! The first one of her tangle patterns was Scarrow which we played on Day4 of HeartiZen2022. I am surprised at how I randomly searched a tangle pattern to play for this series and both the times it was deconstructed by Damy. ? In fact, I chose 3 tangle patterns of hers; but managed to schedule 2 videos so far. So maybe, her third one will be for our future YouTube endeavours. ?   Here's the step-out of the ta ..read more
