Arsenal is back in the Champions League quarterfinals following a fourteen year absence. On Friday morning, the club drew German powerhouse Bayern Munich, featuring none other than Harry Kane. Before moving on, here is the list of the quarterfinal draws… Arsenal v Bayern Munich Atletico Madrid v Borussia Dortmund PSG v Barcelona Real Madrid v Manchester City This is an impressive list of European football, with the Gunners finally joining this group of clubs after a very long absence. Here’s what Edu Gaspar thought of the morning’s draw, “It’s a beautiful game to play. We are going to be playi ..read more

For the first time in fourteen years, Arsenal has advanced to the Champions League quarterfinals. The Round of 16 jinx is over! This was a huge hurdle, and it took a remarkable performance throughout the 120 minutes and in the penalty kicks to ice the deal. The Gunners have now won two major games this season from the penalty spot. The win over Man City in the Community Shield, and now the Round of 16 tie v Porto. Hats off to David Raya for making those two outstanding saves, and to Odegaard, Saka, Rice and Haverrtz for their cool as ice performances from the spot. This was a job well done by ..read more

Do or Die at the Emirates!

The Gunners need a one goal victory over Porto today to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals. We can expect Porto to again play an intense defensive block that stiffled the Gunners creativity a few days ago in Portugal. Arsenal is also in pursuit of attempting to break a seven consecutive streak of failure in the Champions League Round of 16. A win today would kill two birds with one stone. With that said, I expect Mikel Arteta to start the XI from Saturday’s win over Brentford. Only David Ray in goal will be the difference. After watching a thrilling match today between Manchester City and Liverpool, it is safe to claim Arsenal is on top of the Premier League table following Match Day 28! As a longtime Gooner, this is a very good day. The Gunners have now won eight straight Premier League matches by a combined score of 33-4. That, my friends, is truly amazing. Saturday was not the most brilliant Gunner performance since January 1st, however, the team fought hard for the three points, and earned the win against a tough Brentford defense. With that said, here are a few thoughts… First, it was great to see Aaron Ram ..read more

Can the Gunners win their 8th league match in-a-row on Saturday?

Arsenal host Brentford on Saturday in an attempt to win their eighth straight Premier League match. The Gunners defeated the Bees, 1-0, on September 27th in the reverse fixture. Mikel Arteta will be required to have his troops on the same page, and not be looking ahead to the Porto rematch on Tuesday. With Liverpool and Manchester City facing each other this weekend on Sunday, a win for Arsenal will be a key factor on how the league table shapes following the weekend’s matches. With that said, here’s my predicted starting XI for Arsenal in Emirates Stadium… [4-3-3] Trossard, Havertz, Saka Rice ..read more

Since January 1st, the Gunners have been on a virtual tear through the Premier League. The team has recorded seven-straight wins: 5-0, 2-1, 3-1, 6-0, 5-0, 4-1, 6-0. That’s 31-3 in those seven matches. Yes, Arsenal is averaging 4.43 Premier League goals per game since the start of the new year! Incredible to say the least. Without question, Arsenal destroyed Sheffield United on Monday night. It was a masterclass all the way around. With just eleven league matches to play, the race for the Premier League title is on. Currently the top three are: Liverpool 63 points, Manchester City 62, Arsenal 6 ..read more

Sheffield United’s Bramall Lane is the Gunners next Premier League destination for a Monday night football encounter. 3rd place Arsenal v 20th place Sheffield United. Again, this is a must win match for Arsenal. The Gunners are playing for a trophy, while the Blades are playing for pride, and a chance to stay up in the Premier League at the end of this season. However, even though this is not a match to take a lot of chances, I think Mikel Arteta might make a few changes to his recent starting XI configuration. With that said, here is my predicted Arsenal line-up for Monday… [4-3-3] Trossard ..read more

No one can deny that the Gunners are riding high at the moment. With six consecutive Premier League wins under their belt, all cylinders are firing and the team is winning consistently. The match v Newcastle United was extremely important on two levels. One, it kept the club in the thick of the league title race, and two, they had an amazing rebound from their less than stellar performance at Porto. Arsenal is now 26 matches into their league fixture list. The club is third on the league table, only two points behind the leaders, Liverpool. With that said, let’s look at Mikel Arteta’s last doz ..read more
