Tuesday was a day for the record books as the Gunners demolished a somewhat out-of-sync Chelsea team 5-0 in front of a sold out Emirates Stadium! From the first touch of the ball the Gunners looked in total control of the game. The Gunners did enough in Wolverhampton to come back to north London with a 2-0 win over Wolves. Mikel Arteta’s squad remains healthy, and will soon have Jurrien Timber back with the first team as well. Timber plays an Under 21 match tonight v Blackburn Rovers. Obviously, the title race is as close as it could possibly be at the moment. Arsenal is 1st with 74 points, Liverpool in 2nd with 74 points and Man City in 3rd with 73 points. Wednesday’s match at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Area is really a crossroads for the Gunners. A defeat ends a dream of reaching the Champions League semifinals, and potentially the final itself. There’s not much to say about the Aston Villa match, other than it was a very disappointing second half performance during a heated title run. As of today, the Gunners are two points behind Manchester City on the league table. It wasn’t what Arsenal supporters wanted for a result on Tuesday, however, the final score did prove this club can compete with other big clubs on a biggest of stages.
