Aaron has worked alongside Art Molnar in MCOP’s Baltimore office and formerly for 15 years at Walter Reed Military Hospital where they provided care to over 1,100 military amputees. He started his career focusing on the role of manufacturing quality prosthetics as a Prosthetic Technician supporting the MOCP services contract at Walter Reed Military Hospital.

MCOP & Superhumans Collaboration
In mid-August a team of four prosthetists from Medical Center Orthotics and Prosthetics in Silver Spring will journey to Lviv, Ukraine to train Ukrainian prosthetists and treat Ukrainian soldier amputees. Prior to the team’s arrival in Ukraine, MCOP shipped nearly 1,200 pounds of necessary equipment to the country.
This collaborative training and treatment will take place at the Superhumans Center, which inaugurated a large medical center on April 14. This event was attended by MCOP CEO Mike Corcoran and Senior Advisor Bill Endicott.

Alhassan came to MCOP from Ghana, Africa to have custom upper extremity prosthetics devices made. Alhassan lost the use of his arms 5 years ago as a result of traumatic burns to both arms. For the past 5 years Alhassan has been reliant on other people for normal ADL tasks including eating and getting dressed. With the help of the wonderful occupational therapists at Crayola Kids and the expert care he received from Jamie Vandersea, CPO at MCOP, Alhassan has reach some level of independence with eating and dressing and other ADLs.

Our first hero has arrived in the nations capital to receive his hip disarticulation prosthesis. We thank our many partners at Brothers Brother Foundation and Future for Ukraine that have helped us create a path forward for the most severely injured amputees.
