Gaming, like reading, has always been a form of escape for me. Whether I was watching my cousins play on their consoles or playing Shrek 2 for the 100th time on my battered old Gameboy. Video games allowed me to escape the world for a little while and have fun. So I’d thought today that I’d share my relaxing pc games to play on a rainy day that everyone should try.  Relaxing PC Games to Play on a Rainy Day Cozy Grove Looking for a game that has animal crossing vibes but a little more story to it, then Cozy Grove is the game for you!  Arriving on the island of Cozy Grove as a spirit s ..read more

[AD-Affiliate] Wow, it’s been a while since I sat down properly to write out my thoughts or do a bookish reading wrap-up for a month – well, in this case, three months! I think my last post on the blog before my unexpected hiatus was a What I Read in a month.  Perhaps I should take the time to explain my unexpected hiatus first. You see, I got hit with a massive reading slump but also a life slump too. For the past three months, I’ve been struggling to find the motivation to do anything but work, sleep, and binge watch TV. It was really frustrating as I was on such a good run following my ..read more

*AD – PR Product: This book was sent to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This is why I’m excited to share my review of The Gaunlet and the Fist Beneath by Ian Green, a debut fantasy novel that introduces a fantasy world of danger, adventure and family at its core.  You may have noticed that I’ve taken ..read more

When I sat down to write what I read in May post, I was initially disappointed. This month has gone by in a blink of an eye, and so much has happened that I didn’t feel like I’d read anything at all. In fact, I think I’ve spent most of this month during my free time binge-watching Star Trek The Next Generation or watching Twitch streams.  However, when I actually looked, I realised that I had read seven ..read more

Little Moments #7
A cup of Wonderland

As I always end up writing during these Little Moments posts, it barely feels like any time has passed since I wrote the previous month’s post. However, unlike in April, I’m writing this month’s Little Moments post in the garden out in the sun – something that’s only been able to do a handful of times this year.  May was an interesting month for sure; it started well and then was thrown into madness with multiple deadlines being pushed forward and my Granddad finally getting a date for his operation. Overall, there was just a lot going on, but there was still some little moments of April ..read more

Trigger Warnings: In this post concerning Mental Health Awareness Week, I discuss mental health, death, grief, suicide, anxiety, OCD and depression. AD – Affiliate | As I’ve said many times before, I firmly believe that books and reading fiction encourage us to grow and learn as human beings. So, since it’s Mental Health Awareness Week here in the UK, I thought I’d showcase the 6 books to read during Mental Health Awareness Week that focuses on different mental health aspects. Something I’ve noticed about this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week is just how much of an umbrella term it is. Afte ..read more

Trigger Warnings: In this post concerning Mental Health Awareness Week, I discuss mental health, death, grief, anxiety and depression. It’s the start of Mental Health Awareness week here in the UK. An entire week dedicated to raising awareness about mental health, promoting open conversations surrounding mental health, and sharing self-care practices. And this year, the theme surrounds nature, which makes sense since most of us have stayed indoors for the past year.  In today’s post, I wanted to share my own experience with mental health, especially since the week is about having open con ..read more

I’d like to say that April turned out to be a good reading month for me. I didn’t read a huge amount, but similar to March; I certainly found a couple of new favourites that I’m sure will stay with me for a while. Especially since one of the books I read this month, I’m already dying to read again.  As I mentioned in my last Little Moments post, April was a big month for me workwise, and it was a busy and ..read more

[AD – Affliate] When coming to write this month’s Little Moments, I was quite excited because this month felt a little bit like a turning point.  April was a month I didn’t have great expectations for, especially since March felt like a bizarre month. However, in April, the Sun finally appeared, and we only had one flurry of snowfall before it returned. April also meant the first bank holiday of the year, which means I was able to take three whole days from working, my first since the start of the year. I really enjoyed taking some time off, and it was certainly needed.  Especially s ..read more
