In a shameless and selfish attempt to help pay the bills, I’ve posted three new ebook tiles on Amazon Kindle. These titles are available globally. They are quick and easy-to-read short scripts written in scriptwriting format, not prose. If you like, think of these an in-home movie experience, so make your own popcorn and enjoy the read! GARDEN SHED by John Hunter on Amazon Kindle  “A young boy and his sister discover a portal to the afterlife in their grandmother’s garden.” While visiting their grandmother, a 9 year old boy and his 11 year old sister discover what appears to be a shed in ..read more

“A young boy and his sister discover a portal to the afterlife in their grandmother’s garden.“ Someone in the UK recently suggested a supernatural story featuring two young children. Intrigued by the idea, I wrote this ten page short entitled Garden Shed. Brief Synopsis: While visiting their grandmother, a 9 year old boy and his 11 year old sister discover what appears to be a shed in her garden. When the children mention what they have found to their grandmother, she tells them a garden shed had always been their late grandfather’s fondest dream. She hastens to add how unfortunate it was tha ..read more

Are Pitch Decks the Future?

In the past, it was strongly recommended NOT to use any graphic elements, colors or fonts except 12pt Courier on the title pages of scripts. Such affectations were considered amateurish and doomed your project to immediate, unread, rejection.  BUT times have changed and we’ve come a long way, baby! We now have PITCH DECKS with OMG graphics, animation, photos, cyber casting, and more. So, in keeping up with the times, I have just completed a Charlie Brown pitch deck for my Action Adventure Franchise. While mine is not an example of best in class, it ..read more

Just completed a Charlie Brown pitch deck for my mid-budget, action adventure franchise: One Way Tickets, Tropical Princess and Animal Rescue.  I used the Apple Keynote, but there are other more sophisticated and collaborative apps available, see ScriptHop. In the past, it was strongly recommended not to use any color or fonts except 12pt Courier on title pages of scripts. In living memory, graphic element(s) of any kind were considered amateurish. This sort of transgression was guaranteed to send your script straight to the trash can, unread, and uncon ..read more

John THU, 2021-01-07 17:15 Very sore this morning and desperately trying to distract myself by putting together my notes for a victim narrative.  Today at about 2pm, some lunatic cut me off in traffic by making a very sharp turn in front of me. He put me down hard. Bruised and sore all over. Don’t think bike is too badly damaged. This may be the universe trying to tell me something? No way this accident could have been avoided other than staying home. Glad I was wearing a helmet, boots and gloves. The best part? It was a hit and run! After writing the above, I rem ..read more

Upon recently entering my local Costco, a huge cavernous warehouse where you can buy everything in huge quantities at discount prices, my forward progress was stopped by a small boy.  His eyes were closed, his fists were clinched and his head moved violently from left to right. He appeared to be running in place without going anywhere. He sounded like a miniature fire truck on its way to a real barnburner. Everyone except me, prudently ignored his display.  His enabling Copter Mom at his side, leaned over and cooed sweet nothings to the boy, but he was having none of it.  Fascin ..read more
