The 2020 NBA Finals looked different from what basketball fans are used to —and no, I am not referring to the Bubble. For the first time in 6 years, we watched a Finals series that did not include the Golden State Warriors. Between 2015 and 2020, the Warriors won 5 Western Conference Championships and 3 NBA Championships, but this year, the team that dominated the competition only won 15 games and finished with the league’s worst record. The injury-riddled team lost key pieces and was plagued with the injury bug, but given how things have transpired, the Warriors could be on the hunt for anoth ..read more

FEATURED IMAGE CREDITS: Brian Babineau The longest season in NBA history is finally coming to an end. A year ago, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat had finished the season outside of the playoffs both representing the 10th seed of their respective conference. Today, both teams have fought their way to the finals in a set of conditions unlike any other season. With all that being said, this is my NBA Finals Preview. The Miami Heat IMAGE CREDITS : Todd Kirkland The Playoff Path Coming into the bubble, it was unlikely that I would say that the Miami Heat would be the team to make it ou ..read more

The 2020 NBA Draft is almost here and the hype around some of the biggest names continues to grow at an exponential rate. A new mock draft seems to pop up every day and prospects such as Anthony Edwards, Lamelo Ball, and James Wiseman receive all the spotlight. But this year, after the first three picks, there is a great amount of uncertainty among draft experts on the next few tiers of potential draftees. This gives the opportunity for some prospects to become a much higher selection than they were projected on mock drafts. These players are considered sleeper picks. Over the last few years ..read more

FEATURED IMAGE CREDITS: Getty Images Basketball is back! After four months of no action, the NBA returned in their isolated bubble within Disney World. The time off basically equated into an off-season and like most off-seasons, players either took advantage of the time by training or they decided to use the time to relax. Whether it’s due to an increased role in the team, the change of venue, or just overall improvement, the restart of the NBA has seen different players breakout into players completely different to what we saw before the bubble. The sample size is limited to only a week of p ..read more

FEATURED IMAGE CREDITS: USA Today Sports The Background The 2005 NBA draft was the last class to allow prospects to enroll in the draft straight from high school. High school prospects since then have had their options narrowed to either to play in college, an option where allegedly they will not get paid, or take a chance overseas in an entirely new environment in places like Europe, China, or Australia. With the power of the player increasing since the ruling was made, more and more people called for the increase of options for these young prospects. Many felt that the NCAA was taking advant ..read more

Maddie Meyer/Getty Images 40. Gordon Hayward (Boston Celtics) What a remarkable journey Gordon Hayward has had. Coming off his first All-Star appearance in 2017, averaging 22 points and leading the Jazz to the second round of the playoffs, it seemed his best days were yet to come. That summer he signed with Brad Stevens, his former Butler coach and coach of the first-seeded Boston Celtics, a team fresh off a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. Then, on October 17, 2017, just five minutes into the season, Hayward suffered one of the most gruesome injuries in NBA history — a horrific leg ..read more

Featured Image Credit: Jesse D. Garrabrant/ Getty Images The modern age of NBA big men is embodied by an array of archetypes unlike those of the past. Gone are the days of the 7 footers who had to rely on an arsenal of post moves to score. Teams used to search for players like Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Hakeem Olajuwon, or Patrick Ewing, but today the modern play-style allows big men to have a wider array of skill sets. Rather than forcing themselves into post scorers, today’s big men are available to find roles on their team that best suit their skill set. Nikola Jokic Stats 20.2 PPG,10.2 RPG ..read more

FEATURED IMAGE CREDITS: Steve Dykes (AP Photo) On March 11th the NBA world came to a halting stop after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19. At that moment, the league resuming seemed to be one of the last things people were worrying about. Yet somehow, the NBA was able to come up with a plan to end the season and crown a champion in one of the most unlikely of locations, Disney World. With games supposedly resuming on July 31st, the league has still given six teams on the outside of the playoff spots a chance to get into the tournament. Teams will have 8 games to finish ..read more
