Last December, I did something I am not doing this year, I posted every day up until Christmas sharing a wide range of craft projects, baking, days out and guest posts! This year I will be doing the “12 Days of Christmas”, 12 festive themed posts sharing a wide variety of things, including more crafts, decorating and lifestyle content! For my first in these Christmas Posts, it seemed only right to talk about Blogmas from last year, and here are some of my most viewed posts: I love making handmade cards, and this year is no exception! I shared a range of card making ideas throughout Blogmas usi ..read more

An Anniversary Break in Venice, Italy
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog

It was our anniversary last week, and Stu and I decided a couple of months ago to book a break away, we found some cheap flights to Venice, and as it’s on our (rather long) list of places we’d like to go, we went for it. Finding a nice but reasonably low budget hotel, as we never really spend any time there, other than sleeping. Aside from this, arranging transport and parking we didn’t spend much at all.We didn’t really know what to expect, and there wasn’t much in the way of planning, aside from booking a table at Hard Rock for our anniversary dinner (we’ve been in both Prague and Paris, so ..read more

Halloween Crafting – Black Cat Cushion
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog
by Kay

We don’t do much for Halloween here, I carve a pumpkin, and have some lights that go in the window,  as locally, trick or treaters only go to decorated houses, (which i totally agree with.) It’s a bit of fun too isn’t it! Outside of shortbread baking and watching all the films! So this being the case, Halloween crafting isn’t really something I do often, occasionally I’ll make a card, as a bit of fun, but generally this is simply the season for getting ahead with Christmas crafting. However, when I worked with Cricut, (just a mini disclaimer, this post isn’t sponsored, but it’s definitely more ..read more

Days Out: The British Motor Museum
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog

This post has not been sponsored in any way, all opinions are my own The British Motor Museum is a brilliant and unique car museum, located in Gaydon, Warwickshire, just off J12 of the M40. Stu and I had discussed going for a while now, and as we were recently in Leicester, we were in the perfect position to visit as we headed home to Cornwall. Of course we’re not a stranger to automotive museums, though Stu hadn’t visited BMM for years and it was a first time visit for me.The cars on display are particularly unique at the British Motor Museum, as many of them are first or final cars from manu ..read more

The First Skip to the End Podcast Event – #Skipfest 2019

I’m going to begin this post with a disclaimer, this will not be a standard event review. I’m a huge fan of Skip to the End, and have been for so long, that I can’t quite pinpoint when I started listening! so much so that here in 2019 my annual Movie Challenge here on the blog is based on just one of many features on the podcast. So who/what is Skip to the End? There’s something refreshingly different about this particular movie podcast (and I’ve listened to a fair few over the last few years) and it’s of no surprise to me that Skip to the End, and hosts Mark, Ben and Gemma, have managed to p ..read more

Things to Come – A Catch Up Post
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog

This is a little bit of a catch up, and refresher post really, as I usually just share what I’m up to. I intend to keep doing so, though in the interest of readership, there are certain things that I felt were getting fairly repetitive, so after a little summer break, as I realised I’d gone a  year without any major time off from blogging, so I had a little break recently, and thought I’d take the opportunity for a bit of a catch up, and a refresh! I’ve tried in the past to find out what people wanted, though it’s a tough thing to get feedback for, (though as ever, feel free to get in touch in ..read more

A Night at the Circus*
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog
by Kay

This is a sponsored post, I was gifted tickets to Paulo’s Circus in return for an honest review. I can’t remember the last time I went to the circus, long enough that times have changed and the presence of animals is thankfully no longer a thing. When the opportunity arose to attend a show, and share our experience on the blog, Stu and I jumped at the chance. We decided to stay away from social media searches, and so we had no idea what to expect, we were excited! We weren’t to be disappointed! We headed over on a sunny Saturday evening, to  to find lots of parking, and the spectacular view of ..read more

Car Show Season, Three Fab Shows 2019
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog

It’s that time of year again! I’ve blogged about car shows before, and of course we visited Haynes Motor Museum recently, so it’s no secret that we’re car fans in this house (even me and I can’t drive!) This year, instead of individual posts, I thought I’d round everything up into one big post, sharing some pics from the fab shows we’ve attended this year! You can also find some photos on my highlights on Instagram, from the Marie Curie Country and Classics show this past weekend. The first show of the year is always West Cornwall Motor Show, over in Wendron, we always call this the “starter s ..read more

Project Garden (Part 4) – Painted Plastic*
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog

This post contains a gifted product or products*, the content of this post is entirely my opinion, based on my personal experience. There was something I had in mind for the garden, which I never thought I’d actually do, until I was chatting recently with the lovely people at Pinty Plus about a collaboration! Pinty Plus are sellers of Pinty Plus spray chalk paint, Evolution acrylic paint, spray blackboard paint and a range of jewelry making aerosols. Plagued by windy and wet weather made this project a little harder than it could have been but getting Stu in to help, we got there eventually ..read more

Project Garden (Part 3) Bright Bunting
Kay at Home | A Craft and Lifestyle Blog

Coming up with ways to brighten up a boring, and rather grey corner of the garden without modifying anything (as we rent), can be a bit tricky, but this is a really quick and easy project, that you can do for all sorts of occasions, or, like me, just for fun! I got this bunch of cotton FQ’s a little while ago, because I thought the colours were really fun! At the time I wasn’t completely sure what I was going to use them for, the brighter coloured fabrics are what I used for this project:I used my Cricut to cut two triangular pennants from each fabric, mostly because it was quicker, though the ..read more
