Soil is alive, and it has been sustaining life on this planet for millenia. However, our soil is on a steep downhill slope of depletion– and it is more important now than ever to focusing on saving our soil.
Agriculture, deforestation, and other factors have degraded and eroded topsoil at alarming rates. Globally, 52% of agricultural land is already degraded.
The environment suffers on a way larger scale than just the soil. Nature is an intertwined web, and the degradation of soil affects everything from air to water to food to us.
Let’s take a closer look into what soil is, why it’s imp ..read more

Hello it is I, your local apostate– here to explain why I left Islam.
Enemy of the Islamic states. Punishable by death in twelve countries. Exposing myself publicly.
Am I stupid for that?
Probably.
Sorry nana and nani, I won’t be able to visit y’all in Pakistan after this.
It’s problematic how it’s like this in 2022. How are y’all still out here executing people who don’t accept your book as a divine revelation?
Fortunately I’m in America where 300 years ago, old men in wigs and knickerbockers gave us the freedom of religion and speech.
So I am out her ..read more

Mindfulness of the mind is watching our mental activity like we would watch a cloud pass through the sky.
“Mindfulness shows us what is happening in our bodies, our emotions, our minds, and the world.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
In mindfulness, we openly observe what is taking place in all dimensions of our experience: body, emotion, mind, and the world around us.
The Buddha gave a discourse on what is known as ‘the Four Establishments of Mindfulness,’ explaining how to hold mindful awareness of, and in, each dimension of experience.

Mindfulness is just being, in awareness– and allowing that awareness to flower into involvement.
We are mindful of, and in, our experience. Rather, we are mindful of, and in, each dimension of our experience.
Mindfulness illuminates each dimension of our experience with awareness: body, mind, emotion, and the world.
Gautama Buddha explains how a practitioner can establish mindfulness of the feelings, body, mind, and world in his Discourse on the Four Establishments of Mindfulness.

To be mindful means to have an open, all-inclusive awareness.
Mindfulness opens our awareness up to see things as they are, rather than what we perceive them to be. The functioning of our bodies, the activity of our minds, the intensity of our emotions, and the exuberance of our experience– we are with them, just as they are.
Experiencing all these dimensions of life from a place of stillness, we experience them fully. Or should I say mind–fully.
In practicing mindfulness, we become totally involved with life– yet not entangled, as Sadhguru would say.

What is Yoga?
Yoga means union.
A oneness with all that is– and isn’t.
“Yoga is the science of activating your inner energies to such a vibrant and exuberant state that your body, mind, and emotions function at their highest peaks.”
– Sadhguru

Food is a part of everyone’s life. In fact, the food itself is life.
Through practicing mindful eating, we open ourselves up to appreciate the miracle of life our food is.
Food is our sustenance. It provides us with the nourishment we need to survive and maintain our health.

Whether we are eating a plant or animal, one life is giving itself up to sustain our life.
As Sadhguru reminds us– no matter what we are eating, it is important to treat that life with sensitivity and care.

A plant-based diet is- you guessed it– a diet consisting only of plants.
Plant-based simply means that the food grew out of the earth.
Whether we’re eating plant-based for environmental, ethical, or nutritional reasons– we are doing both our bodies and the planet a favor by choosing to eat more sustainably.
However, it can be difficult for some of us to switch to a plant-based diet because we don’t know how to eat well. And I really can’t blame anyone. I mean, it’s not like the food pyramid was made for vegans.
That’s why I’m here to bring you a little plant-based outline for your reference, t ..read more

Holistic skin care acknowledges that the health of our skin comes from within.
The skin reflects the health of the whole body, and it also reflects the health of one’s mind and energies.

In traditional Chinese medicine, all skin conditions are seen as coming from the root cause of an internal imbalance- whether that be in Qi (life energy), blood flow, yin, yang, or blockages of different energy pathways in the body. (source: Pacific College)
Similarly, Ayurveda- an ancient Indian form of holistic medicine- sees the skin as a reflection of the hidden r ..read more
