Finally! The last part of this stitch along! Let's finish this project which we have been working on, step by step, since last month. I've already seen some of your works, thank you so much for sharing them with me! You guys are doing amazing. Can't wait to see the final results :) Now, without further ado, let's dive into the stitching. The last part is all about the third flower. I suggest trying a diagonal long and short stitching for this flower, which is a tidbit more difficult than the regular up to down movement. I've given a quick tutorial for diagonal long and short st ..read more

Hi, everyone! Great news! The Pre-Sales of the new course just started, click here to check it out! So, several things I would like to mention about the upcoming course. Survey Results First of all, I'm really happy that we held a survey among the followers of the course page, and I'm very thankful to everyone who participated. It gave a necessary insight into your wishes and where you're standing right now. Price. We adjusted the price of the course according to the majority's preference. And, considering that until the course launches on August 24th, this will be a period of pr ..read more

Long time no see! Sorry the third part took a while – life happened! Anyway, let's continue from where we left, shall we? :) Today's part is not hard, and shouldn't take too much time. However, please be attentive to color switches and transitions (unless you prefer to freestyle with your colors, of course, which is also great!). The stitches we will need today: outline stitch, lazy daisy stitch, long and short stitch, and French knots. Find all the stitches in the Library. Basically, today we're going to complete the foliage part of the design, and have only the last flower left ..read more

Hello, everyone! Here's the second part ...

Hello, everyone! Here's the second part of the new Stitch Along. I hope working on the first part went well for you all. You can send me your results no my e-mail aminakdesigns@hotmail.com, or tag me on Instagram @stitch-floral. Today's portion may seem small but it involves long and short stitching which can be a time-consuming technique depending on the experience. So I thought it would be enough to do just one full flower for this week: if you work one petal a day and the folded parts of the petals for one-two more days, it should be an easy and undemanding process. Part 1 Th ..read more

Today matters: the new journal spread

My new journal is growing slowly but surely, alhamdulillah! Here are the two new pages from it. Actually, this spread was ready a while ago (if you're following me on Instagram, you probably knew from the stories). But for a long time I couldn't get myself to write a post about it because of the conflicted feelings about the project on the left. Stitching it was a journey full of bumps on the road. When I sketched it in my notebook and colored it with watercolors, I felt a lot of inspiration and desire to experiment and try this and that. So, the idea of adding watercolors to the ..read more

When deciding on the next project to stitch, I thought, why not post the full process so that anyone willing is able to join in the fun? This comes out of the blue, I know. There's a lot on my plate right now, so I apologize for the lack of organization for this Stitch Along. However, I do hope that some of you will enjoy working it :) So, here's the PDF with the pattern and thread chart. DOWNLOAD PDF (Upon a request, there is an alternative, warmer color palette for the flowers) *** Before we start with instructions, I'd like to tell you that there is a chance for me to create ..read more

How to fluff up your cast-on stitch

Before we start with this tutorial, I recommend checking out this lesson: Cast-on stitch and cast-on rose Because the process of making the basic cast-on stitch is described in more details there and there is also a reference to a nice video tutorial if you struggle with understanding how to make the loops. You can also see a clearer process of making the loops in this Hydrangea video tutorial. For the sake of comparison, I worked the “regular” cast-on stitch first. The problem with this stitch is that since it hugs the needle quite closely, the final shape is narrow and t ..read more

Hi, everyone! Here's a wall of text (I didn't expect it to be so long), that I hope will make your embroidery journey at least a little bit easier! 1. Take advantage of Amazon books previews When I only started out in hand embroidery, I was hungry for any little bit of information on materials, instruments, and other basic knowledge. How to choose fabric for embroidery, what kinds of needles there are, how to transfer a pattern. Of course, I gloated a lot of blog posts on this topic (mainly from Needle'n'Thread), but there was one more source of information: Amazon book previews ..read more

Stumpwork fun + new vlog!

I feel like the new page in my journal was “wipped” in a record period of time, considering that I also filmed the process! As expected, not everything went smoothly in my vlogging adventure. The specific parts that I wanted to record in more details (like the actual stumpwork process) actually were filmed out of frame and had to be edited out. Sorry about that! If you want any tutorial on stumpwork, or want to do something like that together, just tell me in the comments, I'm more than willing to explore it together :) Anyway, the new page was worked in scrapbook style ..read more
