This is How Legends are Made

I can admit it now. At the time I was afraid. Very afraid. I am not sure of exactly what I was afraid of. An unfamiliar noise? Or maybe a familiar one that had in the past represented danger? Regardless, I needed to hide. I ran under the small table where my body was mostly out of sight. Nothing chased me. Nothing went bump in the night. All was quiet. I peeked my head out and scanned the room. I didn’t sense any danger. That didn’t mean there wasn’t any. I calculated my odds of survival. I figured it was about 50/50. Nevertheless, still very much afraid, I emerged from under the table. I that ..read more

Alas, My Curiosity Was Not Peaked

IMG_0097 I was polite. I gave the frog a standard canine greeting. I even followed as the frog hopped a couples steps to the right. Alas, my curiosity as not peaked. Who knew I would have little to no interest in the amphibians of the world? I mean, I am open to exploring most anything that comes across my path so this was a surprise even to me. Hop along, little Froggie, and have a good day. Ciao, Jack Video Credit: Andrea Pavlicek The post Alas, My Curiosity Was Not Peaked appeared first on Pawsitively Jack ..read more

The Lingering Dreams Of A Younger Me
Pawsitively Jack
by Jack

When I was younger, I really wanted to be a firefighter.  It was cliched, I know.  Most youngsters at some point wanted the action figure life. To be that hero, you know. And some wanted to be a superhero. Yeah, I was guilty of that fantasy too.  But that was a story for another time. So when I was watching out the window today and a fire truck drove by with its flashing lights, I was once again pulled into my linger dreams of a younger me. Oh, how I wanted to drive that shiny red truck, wear the yellow hats and face down the flames of a roaring fire. I  wanted to save the ..read more

Time Out ~ A Post From My Human’s Perspective

Hello all, This post is written for the  2020 Pet Blogger Challenge. I am Jack’s human. It’s not often that Jack relinquishes the keyboard so I am going to enjoy my moment in the sun. In August of 2019, I launched Pawsitively Jack, a dog blog containing mostly light-hearted short stories told from Jack’s, a 5-year-old PomPoo, point of view. One of my biggest accomplishments last year was learning to type with a little white dog snuggled on my lap with his head resting on my wrist covering some of the keys.  Of all the 2019 blogs How Passionately Fierce Life Could Be was my favorite b ..read more

At what point is it okay to discard outdated machines into their proper historical place?  Some say if you don’t stay up to date with the latest advances, you will never be able to catch up. Others say that technology provides an easy justification to live life without experiencing it.  “once a new technology rolls over you, you are not part of the steamroller you are part of the road. What They Have Named Their Humans

Sometimes I look at other dogs and I wonder what they have named their humans. And that makes me wonder if dogs choose human names for their people or dog names. A rose by any other name, you know? A Blink & A Wink

We blinked and in that fraction of a second, I realized we had our own version of Morse Code. I will attempt to translate the interaction in the live photo below. heartwarming short dog story about nonverbal communication —– Human: (Blink – Squint – Blink) You are a Goooooood Boy! Jack: (Left Eye Blink – Right Eye Wink + tail wag)  I luv you!  —– After that, I found myself wondering, as I often do if all dogs and their humans have their own nonverbal conversation. Stay curious, Jack     The post A Blink & A Wink appeared first on Pawsitively Jack ..read more

That Which Captures Our Focus
Pawsitively Jack

We ended our walk, as was our habit,  at the gazebo.  I hopped up on the bench and she sat on the floor near me.  Our heads were close. At first, our gazed traversed the same landscape. When suddenly she looked the other way, her attention focused on something which I  found little interest. That I think is one of the characteristics that make us so unique.  That in which captures our focus. And to which we give time. And emotion.   The post That Which Captures Our Focus appeared first on Pawsitively Jack ..read more

Have you ever felt the need to run away from the lens of a camera, off the page and into nature?  Into a  world that is not limited by parameters of human expectation? Where the sway of the grass tickles and the symphony of insects delights? Until next time, Jack The post Off The Page And Into The Real World appeared first on Pawsitively Jack ..read more
