An Inspired Morning (Up Early & Productive)
Too Comfortable

Light slowly seeps into the darkness, overwhelming it with bright luminescent rays. The soft quiet turns to a noisy chirping in the trees above. Colors of every kind leak across the sky causing a smile within my soul.  Oh what we miss when we sleep through all of this. To watch the Lord’s universe come alive and wake up to the newness of a dawn.  As I have been in college this past semester I have made it a goal of mine to be getting up earlier. For me, that looks like 5:30-6:00 am. The reason I began doing this came in the form of deep anxiety and disturbing thoughts. I needed to begin my da ..read more

Too Comfortable

Before we jump into these tips, let’s remember that less is  more. You don’t need all of the latest fashion statements to create a warm environment where you can serve and love people well. Although, you can totally have an Instagram worthy home on a budget! It is all about how you use your resources. The home was created by God to be a place where people are nurtured and grow to know Him. It has such potential to be a place where ministry happens amidst the chaos. Discipleship over coffee, children learning about a God who loves them, people who are invited and wanted, strangers welcomed amia ..read more

The Nature of Nesting
Too Comfortable

I believe that we have been beautifully created by a thoughtful God. A God who had a vision of a thriving creation dependent on Him. The first institution that God created was marriage. He knew that man was not meant to be alone and that woman filled that need in a physical and emotional way. We are helpers. As women, whether we are married or not, we love to bring beauty and a warm spirit to our surroundings. When people come into our home, we love to welcome them with open arms and tender hearts. We love the candles to be lit and the conversation enlivening. Our homes are a place where life ..read more

Feminine by Choice
Too Comfortable

The importance of feminine beauty has been slowly stolen from our culture by the rise of feminism. Women are pushed to be more masculine and to dominate. As a Christian woman and wife, I think that this is terribly sad. A movement started with good intentions turned into masking what God has given us. Men and women were created differently and with different roles (a great book on this is “Girl Defined”.) Godly men are described as the leaders, protectors, and providers of their families and homes. Women are contrastingly shown as the nurturers, beautifiers, and creators. God created each one ..read more

Speaking and Meditating on THE Truth
Too Comfortable

This is something that the Lord keeps reteaching me and pressing into my heart lately. It might be the fact that I married my best friend last week, and as a wife I want to create an awesome God honoring marriage where I speak life into Him and encourage Him to seek the Lord and be my leader. It could be the fact that as a wife ( and totally obsessed with children) that I can’t stop thinking about how I want to raise my kids to walk in truth, meditating on it constantly. It could be that I just moved to a new place and feel like it is a fresh start to be known for gospel talk rather than gossi ..read more

Not a Vending Machine God {a story of answered prayer}
Too Comfortable

If you don’t mind, I am going to take a hot minute to brag on my God if that is alright? Cool. Thanks. My God answers prayer This past week we had finished up a class (at the Bible Institute that I attend) on theology and I left that class with an overwhelming need to be taking things to the Lord in prayer. So this week I’ve committed myself to talking to the Lord about the little things in life as much as the big things. Ive even been praying that the Lord would keep my plants alive! My fiancé and I are getting married here in just a few short months and have been constantly cutting corners ..read more

Love Defined (by: Kristen Clark and Bethany Baird)  – This is the continuation of their earlier book called Girl Defined. This book is centered around “embracing God’s vision for lasting love and satisfying relationships”. Its about discovering Gods best for your romantic relationships. I am on chapter 6 and so far it has been wonderful and eye opening. Our culture has it all backwards and this book does a great job of pointing women to God’s design for them and for love. The Cry of the Soul (by: Dr. Dan B. Allender and Dr. Tremper Longman III) – This book considers “how our emotions reveal ..read more
