After suspending the GRE Subject Tests in 2020 due to COVID, ETS is bringing them back with the first administration coming on April 10, 2021. Here’s the official statement from ETS with the details: “Thanks to the many institutions that have stepped forward to offer space on their campuses, the in-person administration of the GRE® Subject Tests will move forward and be held on April 10, 2021. Institutions that use GRE Subject Test scores as part of their admissions decisions can expect to receive scores beginning in mid-May 2021. When COVID disrupted the standardized testing industry starting back in March 2020, the Educational Testing Service (ETS) led the way in providing solutions for graduate school applicants by taking the GRE online. Initially deemed a stop-gap solution while in-person test centers were closed due to the pandemic, the online version of the GRE has gained considerable traction and usage and will remain a permanent part of ETS’s portfolio, as announced by the organization earlier this month. Given the continued global impact on test centers from the coronavirus pandemic, ETS has announced that the GRE Subject Tests administrations scheduled for September 12 and October 17, 2020, have been cancelled. Health concerns and local COVID-19 restrictions are preventing many institutions that have hosted paper-based GRE Subject Test administrations in the past from being able to provide a safe testing space this fall. I just got off a webinar with ETS where they shared some additional details about the new at-home GRE testing option, and I wanted to pass them along right away. Matthew Bashi-Kadlubowski, Associate Director of Global Client Relations at ETS, delivered the following information. To meet the needs of students who are unable to take the GRE® General Test at a test center due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, ETS is temporarily offering a GRE General Test at-home option in selected areas. Effective March 23, 2020, the at-home GRE is being offered in the following locations: United States Canada Colombia France Germany Italy Spain Hong Kong (China) Macau (China) Are you eligible?
