Happy Camper kit

This is one of my most favorite kits I have ever made and that is because I have such a passion for camping. Designing this felt nostalgic. Being in the mountains is my happy place and I get there as often as I can whether it be to hike or to camp. Growing up my dad would take our family camping. He grew up in a poor family, and camping was an inexpensive way for his parents to take their kids on summer vacations. I loved that he carried this on with our family. I have such fond memories of scary stories by the camp fire, roasting marshmallows, going on forest walks and stepping on rocks to c ..read more

Growing up, our family would go on vacation once a year...either in the summer or on spring break. We would alternate between going to visit family in Utah, or going to the beach or a theme park in California (we wore matching shirts on those days). I loved these vacations and spending time with my family. I remember one year that my dad didn't get his Christmas bonus. This meant no family trip. But I remember my mom making it the best staycation a little girl could ask for. My mom decorated our house with a Hawaiian theme. She had used marker on butcher paper to make palm trees for decorati ..read more

I love me some sunshine! Being outdoors is one of my favorite places to be, and I love the warmth of sun (that is, until it becomes an Arizona summertime. And then I love the warmth of the sun as long as I'm in a swimming pool)! But I love what the sun can do. Arizona has spectacular sunrises and sunsets. When I lived on some desert property, I took this picture while standing in my front yard one morning. Look at that sky! In one of our other houses, this was a view of a sunset. Spectacular! I love the sun and all that it brings. Enjoy some of that "Golden Sunshine!" CLICK HERE to down ..read more

I feel it is important to have an attitude of gratitude. One of my favorite quotes by Dieter F. Uchtdorf is this: "How much of life do we miss by waiting to see the rainbow before thanking God that there is rain?" I think no matter what curveballs life throws our way, or whatever we are going through, whether good or bad, we can always find something to be grateful for. Every experience we go through helps shape the person we are becoming, and being grateful for it brings an added measure of joy! CLICK HERE to download the "Gratitude" kit ..read more

This was one of my first kits. I can remember doodling the flowers...which took a lot of concentration! I am not very good with the pen, which is why I switched over from paper scrapbooking to digital scrapbooking! But I did love how it all turned out. This is a kit created to honor our mamas! I'm noticing that a lot of my kits remind me of my mom. She passed away at the young age of 55, and I can only think of the most wonderful memories of her. What a blessing. One that made me laugh was the year that my daughter was a newborn. It was Christmas and I was standing there with my mom as she held my baby. We were admiring her tree. I remember telling her how beautifully it was decorated. All of a sudden the whole tree came toppling over because it was top-heavy (or, front-heavy)! She had only decorated the front of the tree, and the weight of it all made it come crashing down! She a ..read more

My parents were newleyweds for life. Although my mom passed away at the young age of 55, my siblings and I were so blessed to witness true love at its finest. I remember taped to our kitchen cupboard was a picture of my dad. Beside it my mom had written this message, "This is a Babe-o-rama! You girls would be so lucky to marry a man like this. You boys would be so lucky to BE a man like this!" My parents would leave post-it-love notes all over the place for each other. They would slow dance in front of us, kiss in front of us, and laugh in front of us. They truly enjoyed each other and were ..read more

I remember being in 6th grade and all the 6th grade classes put on a production for our school about our country. In one of the songs, we all recited the Preamble to the Constitution. I remember working hard to memorize it, and to this day I can still recite it. We sang songs all about our country (I remember my favorite being "God Bless the USA/I'm Proud to be an American"). This moment planted a seed in my heart of love for my country. The older I get the more I appreciate and realize just how blessed we truly are. I am "Lovin' Me Some Liberty!" I love the magic of winter for different reasons. One of them is that being an Arizonan, the winter season offers me respite from the heat. Arizona winters are THE BEST! We get a lot of winter visitors here who would have to agree. I love to go hiking during this time and I love when my kiddos are off from school for me to just enjoy them! One of my kids and my favorite memories was going to the La Encantada snowfall when we lived in Tucson. It was a fun ambience of live music, families everywhere, free hot cocoa, and FAKE snowfall! Yep, that's right! Living in the desert it was a VERY ..read more
