If you’ve reached this blog, you’ve heard about me at some point. People will speculate since many people have varied opinions about me, and since I’m an ambivert and closely guarded to most. Here are my three tidbits that readers have to know.
“I make no qualms about my looks… or my books.”
My favorite writer in the ’90s was Poppy Z. Brite, and my favorite book was ‘Wormwood.’ – I was sixteen back in 1996 when I first found the book in the horror section of National Book Store in Greenhills, San Juan City, Philippines. I eagerly read it when I got home, and the impact through the years still ..read more

If my Twitter has made any indication, I have many fiction titles in the pipeline to rob you writers blind of your publishing spaces (hehe). And for all the fans, more horror and weirdness to sate your hunger. You see, with Il Migliore Del Mondo & Other Stories, I left a lot on the table for future accomplishments. The difference is a notably more polished narrative, a more authentic Filipino voice, and a slew of horror tropes reinterpreted or discovered… and I’m only getting started.
It starts with three new novels, one still under wraps. All three look really good to me, but I hope you w ..read more

Hello everyone. This first announcement covers some of the basics. I’m launching a career writing fiction in the horror genre, posting news and announcements here and on social media. I’m also on Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram (Please see the links on the site). Otherwise, if they led you to this blog, then great. Welcome again. I hope you come often.
The site has been refreshed, but it’s a basic layout. Since I’m from Manila, Philippines, not everyone accessing this site will have fast download speeds. A lack of flashiness has its advantages.
I’m also working on freelancing as a web designer ..read more

AWAKE
A poem about ‘lucid dreaming’
By Alaric Cabiling
I love many lovers for I dream AWAKE. It is called lucid dreaming. Without dreams, life is meaningless; reality never manifests; goals are never consummated.
If you spend too much time in dreams, reality ceases to ground tangible experience. Without substance to provide sensory experience, life will cease to be real, and will thusly, remain illusory.
For how can I learn to love, if not love blindly, as though a dream of a perfect partner were not mere fantasy, and love such a partner as though they were, in fact, real.
Without sublimation ..read more

What The Body Artist lacks in popularity, it does not lack in merit.
Reviewed in the United States on February 23, 2020
Format: Paperback
Short Novels or Novellas have made quite a comeback these past four or five years. Classic fiction abounded with examples of the short novel—from Thomas Mann’s Death in Venice to Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw—indeed, short novel landmarks in the literary landscape will always resonate.
Don Delillo’s own example of the short novel, The Body Artist, might not prove as noteworthy an example in some people’s eyes, owing to its relative ..read more

The poem, ‘SLEEP’, taken from
THE DARKEST DAY REVISITED
Selected Poems from 2009’s The Darkest Day
and new poems.
To want. To crave. The rapture of resting
One’s limbs amiably
In the shade.
The hope of a bottle cast upon the pitiless
Wave. The journey ends
Where it begins.
The amnesty of sleep.
A raft forsaken to the sea of escape.
A summer’s dream mourns the turn
Of the fall.
Or else nothing at all,
And suddenly
One finds himself awake.
