5 Steps to Productivity.
Chris Spicer

Occasionally we come across certain people and can’t help but wonder how they manage to get so much shit done. They have 24 hours in their day just like we do. Yet, they’re doing so much more than us. So what are they doing differently? I’ve always loved writing. It’s been a hobby of mine ever since I was a kid. People used to ask me if I love writing so much, why don’t I start a blog. My answer was always the same. “Oh look, I want to do it — I just don’t have the time”. That was my go-to answer to disguise the fact I was lazy, and my time management sucked. The worst part about it was I actu ..read more

I Gave my Kids Lego Away.
Chris Spicer

We’ve all done it. It’s not pleasant, but it’s part of being a parent. If parenting required a gang-like initiation, it would be walking over a path of Lego. If fire walkers want a real challenge, swap the hot coal for some Lego blocks. That’s the real test of strength and courage. Light the Lego on fire, and you would have the toughest assignment known to man. The other night I was searching for my phone charger in the lounge room. After pulling all the lounges out and making a mess, I ended up finding it next to the TV (I had a man look). Anyway, I picked it up, turned the light off and as I ..read more

I start to ponder over my existence on the scale of significance. I finally understand just how vulnerable I am. Look at the openness of the ocean and the vastness of the land. My existence is as significant as a grain of sand ..read more

My 3-Year-Old Dropped The F-Bomb.

Ok, be honest: Do your kids ever swear? Do you swear? I was raised in a split family. I lived with my Mother full-time, but I would spend every other weekend with my Father. My mother dropped F-Bombs like she was trying to blow up the room. However, my father was the polar opposite. I’ve never heard him swear and you wouldn’t dare to swear around him. Hell, I’m 26 years old, and I still don’t swear around him. I occasionally swear at home. I mainly swear to emphasis (e.g. “ how f*cking cold is it”) or when I stub my toe or when I can’t find my keys or 5 million other things. I’m mindful of whe ..read more

Five Practices To Enhance Your Morning.
Chris Spicer

Your morning sets the pace for the rest of the day. If your mornings are unorganised, the rest of your day will be unorganised. If they’re stressful, then expect a day full of stress — it’s a snowball effect. If you master your mornings, you master your day. These five practices will lay the foundation for the rest of your day. 1. Rise Early. Waking up can be one of the most challenging and dreaded parts of the workday. But for some of the most successful people in art, business and sports, rising early is key to their success. Apples CEO Tim Cook starts his day at 3:45 am, Ellevest CEO and co ..read more

My Conversation With Smiling Sam.

Today started just like any other day. I got up at 5 am, I meditated, I had breakfast, and I left for work. I stopped into McDonald’s to get a coffee like I usually do. I generally go through the Drive-Thru, but with the number of cars waiting, I decided to go inside. As I got inside, I noticed a man sitting near the door, reading the paper. That’s not unusual, but what caught my attention was the huge smile on his face. It was like he just read that he won the lottery. Anyway, I got my Long black, no sugar, and an extra shot of coffee (That’s the beverage equivalent to a slap in the face). As ..read more

Cold Water Immersion: 5 Reasons Why You Should Take The Plunge
Chris Spicer

When I tell people I regularly take cold showers, I generally get a facial reaction that says "This guy is fucking mad". What they don't realise is that cold showers activate the body's natural healing powers that can relieve the symptoms of many medical conditions and promote a sense of health and well-being. When you do it regularly, cold water immersion can even provide long-lasting changes to your body's immune, lymphatic, circulatory and digestive systems that enhance the overall quality of your life and best of all, it won't cost you a CENT. I've compiled a list of 5 reasons why you shou ..read more
