I've been a bit lazy with the blog over the last few months.. Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been working 7 days a week and most of my spare time is devoted to the new Pubbet 4 Indiegogo campaign which will launch next month. Despite the lack of updates, I've still been making monthly donations to two kids education charity programs in Cambodia: the I See I Do School and the Kevin Levrone School of English. I've closed the drawing robot site penpalbots.com but my other online store at www.zalarfe.com and our Etsy store also contribute 10% each month. Our sponsored student at the I See I ..read more

Charity Update - June & July 2020

We have stopped advertising in June and July while waiting for worldwide shipping time to normalise. In that time we've been busy sourcing new products, working on a curriculum program and recording teaching videos for a separate project. Despite the reduction in sales we have still been supporting our sponsored child in Takeo province and we have sent the contributions to her family directly through the I See I Do charity program. https://youtu.be/n3a5QVzZzxI In future we hope to add more students to our list of sponsored kids, and the long term goal is to fund a new school centre for the dis ..read more

The I See I Do charity program in Takeo Province, Cambodia has spent the last 9-12 months working hard to improve their school centre on the charity's property. With help from my other business, Pubbet Puppets, and supporters from around the world, they were able to upgrade their school classrooms, setup an IT program and buy new furniture and uniforms for many of the poorest students in the area. The charity also provides food, medical care and emergency support to almost 100 orphans from the local area. I personally sponsor one student and the monthly contribution means that she can go to s ..read more

The world is going through uncertain times. Schools, businesses and entire countries have been closed down. Many people are struggling to find a way to feed their family and there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel. But Kim Ny at the I See I Do program is still working every day to help people in need. With a kind donation he was able to provide 100 bottles of sanitiser to poverty stricken people in his village. Many people have abandoned their children out of desperation. The already low income area of Takeo Province has been devastated by the virus outbreak and countrywid ..read more

Introduction to Online ESL Puppetry!

Being an online ESL teacher has many benefits, and one of the best is that you have the excuse (or opportunity?) to use puppets every day! Puppets make fantastic co-teachers because the student instantly can hear two native English speakers communicating with each other. You can also use a puppet to model language, question the student or just provide a bit of fun in your lessons! Here's a short intro video I made for my online teaching friends. Hope you like it! https://youtu.be/q51aoNefoYQ ..read more

Meeting Kim Ny from the ‘I See I Do’ charity

I’m humbled and amazed by this very special guy. Kim has devoted his life to helping disadvantaged people; whether they’re orphans, people trapped in poverty, people living with disabilities or the elderly. He now provides free education to over 200 kids and sadly needs to turn many kids away each day and he’s set up a rotating schedule so everyone gets a chance to learn. We originally planned a full program of workshops and training for his senior students during my stay, but the corona virus outbreak has forced us to postpone this plan till later in the year. He changed his travel plans so ..read more

The 'I See I Do' charity will bring 8 senior students to Phnom Penh for a series of workshops, and we'll be sending food, clothes, school and medical supplies back with them to Takeo Province. I'll also be helping to setup an ongoing student sponsorship program which will be offered here on pubbets.net in the very near future. If you'd like to support this project, please consider buying your next Pubbet now. I've allocated the next 5 Pubbet sales to be 100% contributed to the visit. You'll need to pick the Pubbet that you like on the site at pubbets.net/shop and then contribute $115 via the ..read more

We sent a contribution to the I See I Do charity program in Takeo Province, Cambodia this month. I will continue to support this program throughout 2020 due to the amazing work that is going on at their centre. Thank you to Tony in Australia who sent a large donation to help pay for school supplies and uniforms for some of the students. Check out a video from Kim Ny at their school centre: https://www.facebook.com/amom.ny.5/videos/191756161969531/ Pubbets now sponsors Chan Thue each month so she can go to school every day and doesn't need to scavenge for wild vegetables to provide for her gr ..read more

Charity Update December 2019

Pubbets is working with a small grassroots charity program in Cambodia called the 'I See I Do' program. This program does a lot of different work in Takeo province, including emergency housing, medical and financial support for people living in poverty. They also run a charity school that provides free education to over 100 kids from the local province. Pubbets gives 10% of all profit to this school project and the contribution from November has gone towards their computer room. The money was used to replace 10 damaged keyboards. https://video.wixstatic.com/video/ea1e3b_dc6e9bc057c34fb39fd6f4e ..read more

Hi Pubbet People! It's our favourite time of year and I'd like to wish each and every one of you a VERY Happy Christmas! We've been busy at Pubbet central over the last few months. 1. The Indiegogo Pubbets were finished and sent in late November after a few delays. A big thank you to our Vietnam operations manager, Linh, who bought in her Mother to help me finish the Pubbets before I left Vietnam to head home to Thailand. These Pubbets should be arriving any day now, and some people have already received theirs. 2. The T-Shirts will be made early next year, and people who pre-ordered one on In ..read more
