We experienced so many wonderful encounters during our birding tour in Alentejo this spring that it is difficult to know how to describe them! It's early in the morning that I meet our participant who came from Switzerland for this 3-day birding tour in Alentejo, Portugal. For this morning birding tour at the Grangettes reserve, I meet Martial and his mother to enjoy the arrival of the wintering birds on Lake Geneva. Right when we start, we cross a first harbour already with the water birds typical of our urbanized banks. We observed a few Common Coots as well as a Great Crested Grebe of the year. The water is very calm and we observe a beautiful scene of underwater hunting led by the Grebe. It's 8 a.m. and I'm meeting our 5 guests for a new edition of our nature excursion to the Marais de Sionnet in the Geneva countryside. One of the best birding sites in the canton of Geneva, where it is sometimes also possible to see mammals, amphibians and insects. A place rich in biodiversity. Le Creux du Van is a spot well known to the public thanks to its cliff cirque. Subject to dizziness, I decide to arrive earlier than our guests to check the condition of the path.
