Hi Everyone, I wanted to take a moment and dedicate a special post towards individuals that has a fear of heights and/or flying. This is more of a recommendation as it definitely has worked for me. In therapy I've learned that having a safe place is a chance to escape from reality. This place is to bring you back down to earth and relax your nerves. My go to is the beach and if I am not near my second place is a river or stream of running water in the middle of a forest. Water brings me back down to earth and it gives me energy to be there; by the time I leave I feel refreshed. The importance of having documentation is significant! It will become crucial to the abuse case. You will need to be able to provide proof of the abuse occurring; this includes, emotional, trauma, verbal, and physical abuse. For example, I went through a physical abuse situation for about 4 1/2 years and after about the 1st year of abuse I began to compile data. I kept photos and began writing journal entries. When in an abusive situation it is best to take time out and build a plan to escape. Most times this takes people years to consider and actually put the plan in motion; for self reasons and concerns. There are six different types of abuse and can affect anyone in various ways. These are physical, sexual, emotional-verbal, mental, financial, and cultural. Physical- Physical abuse is self explanatory. A person is attacked physically and typically have marks left on the body. Sometimes a person may not have physical signs of abuse forming right away or at all. For me I have had scraps and bruises on my arms and legs.
