(Deutsche Version hier) Edit: This post originally went online five (!!!) years ago in 2017. Today it was time to update it. Luckily I didn’t have to change much. Capsule Wardrobes simply survive the ravages of time. A few links and products have been updated, since of course much was sold out in the meantime.  I thought a long time about how to build the perfect ethical capsule wardrobe. I am usually not a big fan of just minimalistic black-and-white capsule wardrobes. It gets too boring too quickly and you tend to go shopping too often then. That’s why I did a lot of research (and with ..read more

Lab-grown diamonds: Are they the sustainable option?

(German version here) I am a huge jewelry lover! I actually always wear at least one piece of jewelry, either earrings, a necklace or since our wedding a ring. It was clear to me before our engagement that I definitely did not want a ring with a “new” diamond. I simply do not want to support this dirty business. Personally, I am very skeptical that such a thing as an “ethical diamond” exists. I applaud any project or company that advocates ethical sourcing of gemstones, but I am still very skeptical. I know how difficult it is already in fashion to create a completely transparent supply chain ..read more

Advertisement with Organic Basics (German version/ auf Deutsch hier) Ill-fitting underwear – I think all of us have experienced it: a waistband that pinch, straps that cut in, marks after wearing your bra, too small or too big cups…. it can be dramatic. On top of that, it’s not always easy to navigate the different sizes. Sometimes underwear is measured in cups, sometimes in S, M, L. Buying underwear, especially online, is not easy. That’s why I’m shedding a little light on it with Organic Basics, which is expanding its size selection in 2022: Measuring your body: For almost any underwear on ..read more

Advertisement with Organic Basics (- auf Deutsch hier) Couch potato – yes, when it comes to sports, I am lazy! Me, who years ago had “sporty” in her Instagram bio. Who played in the National Lacrosse League, who was in the gym every freaking day for a while, who posted workout videos and tips on my blog…. Now during the pandemic, the laziness when it comes the sport is at an all time high. I was still motivated and followed online workout videos at the start of the first lockdowns. But at some point I realized (as many others did) that this pandemic will be with us for a very long time. The m ..read more

(Advertisement – Deutsche Version hier) A new denim collection – does the world really need it? Let’s take a quick look at some stats: Clothing has a large environmental impact Every second, one full garbage truck of clothing is taken to landfill or burned One pair of conventional jeans, including its production and general wear, uses up to 2,900 gallons of water During conventional production processes much of this water is polluted with toxic chemicals, which in turn pollutes the environment, rivers and lakes Another problem are the labour conditions: in fast fashion workers usually have t ..read more

But from the beginning, how it all started: I started my blog over 10 years ago, back then as a conventional fashion blog, with outfits showing numerous fast fashion brands. (German Version here, Advertisement with KOKOworld) A t-shirt and a fair fashion company with a history – I’ll also share with you more info on how you can become fashion rebels and activists yourself! Regular readers of my blog already know about the shirt story. After an exciting trip around the world, I was able to have one of my favorite souvenirs tailor-made into a one of a kind piece. I found a small piece of vintage fabric in a second hand shop in Cambodia and actually carried it in my backpacker backpack for months. Back in Germany, the vintage fabric was then sent to Poland, where th ..read more
