It simply asks all of us to switch off non-essential electrical devices for one hour at the same time in each time zone round the world — starting in Samoa and ending in Tahiti. This year, Earth Hour will come to Scotland between 8.30 and 9.30 pm on Saturday 23rd March — the evening before Palm Sunday.
