Hi, My university uses outlook 365 for email and I can access it from home via login as its online/cloud based only not installed on my hard drive at home. I already know that there’s a link that shows how to do this: support.office.com Back up your email If you are using email for work, you are most likely using an Exchange or IMAP account. Exchange and IMAP servers automatically archive your email so that you can access it anytime or anywhere. However I believe that’s for if its installed on the hard drive right? So how do I back up emails at home without going to ..read more

I will miss the commeraderie, the banter, the learning and all the great times I’ve had here with everybody. I do not participate on Facebook, so unfortunately I won’t see any of you over there. I’m grateful for the time I’ve had here on the HTG forums and it’s been an honor to be able to assist @geek and @wilsontp in helping out as the assistant mod. It’s been a pleasure to get a chance to know you all, and I will miss many of you greatly. Hopefully we’ll have the chance to meet elsewhere on the superhighway ..read more

Do you have a favorite YouTube channel that focuses on tech? Since this forum is going away, readers might want to branch out into new tech areas on YouTube. Examples: Linus Tech Tips The 8-bit Guy Please no small, personal channels. (1000+ followers minimum.) The usual content rules apply (pirated content. etc ..read more

Since the HTG Forum is shutting down, I’d like to see everyone find a new online home. If yo have a tech forum you enjoy visiting, post a link here. Please stick to the kinds of things HTG focuses on (computing and smarthome tech). Link to active discussion forums with 1000+ members. No YouTube channels or blogs, please. I’ll start: https://murray2.com/ this is a Maker and retro-friendly forum, focused on DIY and retro computing. https://arstechnica.com/civis/ Ars Technica is probably the best, relatively independent tech news blog. The forums are informative and have discussions on many dif ..read more
