Appendicovesical fistula is a rare complication associated with appendicitis, Crohn's disease, or appendiceal tumors, posing significant diagnostic challenges. We reported a pediatric case of appendicovesical fistula that remained undiagnosed by non-contrast CT, fluoroscopic voiding cystourethrography (VCUG). Although the bladder orifice was identified during cystoscopy, its connection to the fistula site could not be determined. However, the trans-vesical contrast-enhanced ultrasound clearly demonstrated the presence of fistula ..read more

We appreciate the authors' Editorial Letter and concur with their comments regarding the continued minimalization of surgical invasiveness. We endorse the highlighted benefits of the single-port (SP) transvesical (TV) approach, notably its one incision, extraperitoneal surgical access, preservation of surrounding structures, minimal postoperative pain and opioid usage, and short hospital stays. In terms of functional outcomes post SP TV robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), we emphasize the marked improvement in urinary control, a benefit thus far associated solely with the multi-port ..read more

The authors describe their design of a training model for optical internal urethrotomy (OIU) as well their initial results. We applaud the authors for their novel design and production of this model. In particular, the use of a re-usable base with low-cost, exchangeable, stricture component is important to its possible implementation in training programs. The ability to tension the stricture with varied rigidity adds additional clinical utility. The authors recognize the interesting predicament of trainees having limited exposure to commonly performed procedures while in training ..read more
