We have a hydraulic unit at work for display that actuates pipeline valves. We have a 12” butterfly valve on it right now and I want to get some clear plastic domes to put on the valve to prevent people from putting their hand in while it’s turning. Does anyone know where you can buy these? It would look kind of like a big clear mixing bowl, and you put one on each side of the valve. Hi guys at my work we have several machines which consist of a closed hydraulic system (I think?) each have a hand pump which is used to pressurise an accumulator - the accumulator consists of a floating piston with pre charged nitrogen on one side and oil on the other. Once brought to the correct pressure, it will operate 2 cylinder rods. The system also includes counter balance valves and flow control valves for both strokes of each cylinder. I’m assembling a small lifting system, one double-acting ram, powered by a pump/motor unit from automotive convertible-roof, the pump manifold has internal relief valves, it just reverses polarity to raise or lower. My first version of this build, took a few seconds of motor spinning to build pressure, then it stutters as it extended the piston. Should I bleed the air out by momentarily operating the pump while one or both of the cylinder’s hose banjo-bolts are slightly loose? Hello all! I have here a convertible top cylinder from a Porsche 996. I am wondering how you guys would go about removing the clevis from it to slide on a new seal assembly and remove shaft for polishing? I have never seen the dimples like this, I do a lot of Mercedes tops and they don’t have this. I am unaware of how to pop it off on the Porsche. Built a dump trailer a few years back and bought a ram (dual action, fittings at both ends, just have a breather/filter in the second port) and this pump on a deal off craigslist. After a few years of use, it'd be really nice it if was power down also. Obviously just has a single basic solenoid for power currently, have a remote setup to energize that or the little solenoid you see on the side to drop it. Would it be possible to change this pump to run both ways, or better to swap the pump out? This one fits nicely in the box with the right size reservoir for the ram. https://preview.redd ..read more
