An average working mom has numerous activities to do in a day and sometimes it’s hard to keep up with all of them. For some women it becomes overwhelming and some even neglect and forget to do some of the activities they had planned to do that day.  A great way to combat this is by getting a journal. An Open Letter to My Children The other day I saw pictures of you is babies and made me realize how fast you guys are growing up. Every day you get older and older and soon you guys will be grown. I realize that I wasn’t the perfect mother. I tried to be. The thought of not measuring up to your expectations or not being what you guys needed me to be still bothers me to this day. I can honestly say that looking at you and the wonderful beautiful people that you’re becoming gives me joy. In some way, I hope I played a part in that. As you go out to face the world without me as your buffer ..read more

Taking the Stress Out of the Holidays I love the holidays! It seems that during the holiday season things change. There are lights and music and lots of happy ending movies both in theaters and tv. Christmas is the best time of the year for me and normally I go all out. I come from a rather big family and because of that holidays were always big! There were lots of presents under the tree! So many that they stuck out a few feet from under the tree. Holiday meals were twice as big to make sure we all could get seconds (and thirds); I know I always did. I loved it! An ..read more

5 Lessons I’m Grateful To Have Learned This Thanksgiving It’s Thanksgiving, the holidays are here! Now’s the time when people tend to talk about being thankful. Today I’m appreciative and grateful for everything and everyone in my life. The good and bad ones, especially the bad. I haven’t always been this way. I haven’t always been able to appreciate the things that were happening to me at the time. As I mature I’ve realized that gratitude is a necessary component of having true joy in life. It doesn’t mean that things will always be easy, life just isn’t that way. There will be hard tim ..read more

When You Want To Blog But The Words Won’t Come Out As I sit here trying to find something to post about I realize that I am at a loss of what to say. It’s why I haven’t posted anything on my blog in a little while. Not that life has not been busy, there was the low rating I got from my previous supervisor as I was transitioning over to a new supervisor, the parent-teacher conference I had with my sons teacher that let me left me feeling overwhelmed said sad and worried and the weekend trip for my husband’s birthday to get away from it all. Add those things to everyday life and it’s been p ..read more

My son may have dyslexia. There I’ve said it. I’ve put in in writing and to be honest it doesn’t scare me as much as the thought it once did. Maybe I’ve moved on through the five stages of grief already and hit acceptance, maybe I’m holding on to the possibility that he doesn’t since he hasn’t been tested yet. I don’t know. What I do know is that now that the thought has been voiced I can begin to move towards getting him tested so that he can get whatever help he needs. My little man is the sweetest and intelligent six year-old you could ever meet. I knew that he would be even as a baby. I co ..read more

As a working professional, you hear the term work-life balance often. It’s become the coined phrase for anyone who desires to have some sort of life outside of the work environment, especially if you have kids. We all want an ideal situation where we can manage to do it all. A life where we can be successful at work, raise happy healthy kids while never missing an event, have a great social life and a loving relationship with our spouse. A life where we can seamlessly juggle all of this without any of it having an impact on the other, the ever-elusive work-life balance. We’ve all heard of it a ..read more

It’s Tuesday and I have to take my son to speech therapy. But every now and then it happens. I don’t know if that’s true for you but it is for me…I have a lazy moment. A point that I hit where I don’t want to do anything but come home from work and go to bed. No homework, no making dinner and no family time. I just want the comfort of my bed and pillow. Today was just that kind of day. As with the last Tuesday and the ones before it, after school and homework, I load my little man in the car and take him to his appointment. Then it’s back home to make dinner and get everyone ready for the next ..read more

I’ve been in my current position for a little over a year now and it’s time for me to go. Not necessarily leave the company but it is time for me to switch offices and work with someone new. It’s time for me to break up with my boss. I say this because I view every interaction as some kind of relationship. Not just the ones I have with my hubbs, family, and friends. There are also work relationships you build with your coworkers you team up with and the relationship you have with your management that allows you to grow in your position. Some relationships grow and you’re able to produce great ..read more
