Even though I have over 200 maternity gowns for clients to use in the maternity photos I get some clients that want what is called an "additional look" where they aren't wearing a gown but something different. I ended up changing my packages to start including these after getting many requests for them.
So what is an additional look? For one it's doing a maternity photo without wearing one of the fancy gowns. I have added Fabrics, bodysuits, and even angel wings to my collection to help add additional options for my clients. So let's look at some of these "additional looks"

White Sands National Park is famous for its majestic scenery and multiple square miles of beautiful sand dunes made out of crystal white sand. It's no wonder that the park has attracted over 700,000 visitors a year to it's scenic beauty.
Kristina had a goal to visit all 50 states and for her visit to New Mexico she wanted to make sure that the scenic dunes were one of her stops. She told me that they have visited 32 states at the time and while they have fond memories of their trips they don't have a lot of photos. She hired me to take photos of her and her boyfriend enjoying the dunes.

Monika wanted to celebrate her 21st birthday with a special photo session. She requested some rose gold balloons and a cake to go with it. Since pink was also going to be in her colors I went ahead and ordered a new pink seamless backdrop which worked wonderfully for her session. I then ordered a set of balloons that were rose gold, pink and white. I happened to have a rose gold colored skirt with matching top and had her wear that for part of her photo session.
I then purchased a non-alcoholic sparkling cider that looked like a rosé wine. We took several photos in this outfit and then she h ..read more

Ariana's family wanted to give her a special Quinceañera photo shoot by coming down from Odessa and having it done at White Sands National Park. I did have some concerns about the weather the day of the session so I had them first come to the studio to get in some photos before heading to the park.
Before arriving at my studio Ariana had stopped at Copper Rose Salon and Spa for her hair appointment which is just down the street from my studio.
Since it was such a long trip for her to take her photos I wanted to make sure that she got plenty in at we had winds and storms earlier that day and ..read more

With the addition of my new couture gowns March pulled in quite a few clients who wanted studio maternity sessions. Debbie saw one of my new couture gown's that was a new design with a beautiful beige color.
This gown isn't a robe like my previous gowns and actually has a detachable bolero if you want to expose your arms. If you choose to wear the bolero attachment then it adds some additional ruffles. For a background I opted for this new seamless paper backdrop that I had picked up for some more neutral colors.
Many of my clients like this pose where they lay down in a be of ruffles and I ..read more

I always enjoy when I get multiple family members that come to me for their photo sessions. Kimberly had contacted me for a maternity session after seeing photos posted for her cousin Karla. She loved the work and wanted to book her own session. Kimberly opted for a White Sands for her scenic location maternity session.
She also picked out my two dress package for her Scenic Location Maternity session. For her first gown she went with my pink couture gown that has lots of ruffles in it.
It was a cloudy day which many folks would think would be a bad day but I like to photograph on cloudy day ..read more

Karla was a beautiful mama from El Paso Texas who came up to my studio for a maternity session that included 3 different dresses. She had seen some of my recent couture gowns that I had posted on my Facebook page and wanted to wear them for her maternity photo session.
We started out with my pink Katy gown which is a couture gown made with tulle. We photographed her against my grey seamless backdrop and added some jewelry that I had recently picked up for my clients to use.
This is one of my favorite shots to do for my clients in studio wearing the tulle gowns. I just love the extra layers o ..read more

Tiffany wanted to do a studio maternity session which allowed her to get some photos of herself and also her family. She had seen some of my studio photos of my couture gowns and wanted photos similar to those.
For her first gown she picked out my emerald color tulle couture robe which looked stunning on her. We shot this dress in front of my charcoal backdrop with a old stone rubber backed floor to complete the look.
She was enjoying this session and gave me several poses both standing and sitting.
I of course got several of her laying down as well some smiling and some were done to give i ..read more

Anijah had booked her studio maternity session knowing that she could get multiple looks. She had booked her sessions directly from my ,booking site. I reached out to her afterwards to get an idea of what she wanted for her maternity session. She had a few examples of what she was looking for as inspiration. Some I have done before and some was new to me.
The first thing she knew she wanted is that she wanted a tulle couture robe. I had just a few at the time of her booking but knew I had some more coming in. Fortunately this honey colored robe had come in and she loved it. We ended up using ..read more

Mariah's maternity session was a special one for me. First, her husband had surprised her with the maternity package and booked it for her and second, they both came down from Carlsbad NM for their session. I normally start talking with the expecting mother first during the time of booking to go over all the details with them such as what type of maternity package she would like and get an idea of what gowns she would want to wear. I also like to go over any other details with the mama such as any special requests that they have. Since I didn't get to have the initial consultation with Mariah ..read more
