This is an ok chai, the aroma is nice. It seems the cardamom and cloves are the 2 spices that most come through in this blend, I wish there was a little more flavor and aroma. It's a bit astringent and I would probably prefer this with milk. It's a little thin too, it's definitely not my favorite cup of chai but it was still enjoyable to drink. The price is cheap so I think the value is good but because it wasn't my favorite, I don't think I'd order it again ..read more

I love teas with a toasted flavor like this. This tea is certainly a great example of a good hojicha. This tea is sweet and thick bodied, slightly astringent in a good way, and of course has that wonderful toasted flavor. The aroma is very nice and also has the toasted smell. This tea is yet another old tea I'm reviewing from 2017, so it may have been even more aromatic when it was fresh. This tea is still for sale on the website and it is very reasonably priced at $31/lb, for how good this tea is I'd say ..read more

I really enjoy this tea a lot! The aroma is very pleasant, it kind of smells like pumpkin seeds. The taste is the best part, it is very smooth and thick bodied and not too astringent or bitter at all! It tastes like raisins and pumpkin seeds to me. It is a very comforting cup of tea. It is still being sold today and it is very cheap at around $16 per pound, a great value for how good this tea is. Its not a super fancy tasting tea but it certainly is a very good classic cup of breakfast tea. I would definit ..read more

This tea is really great! The taste is very smooth, it's not too astringent or bitter. The aroma is very nice, it has a slight dank pu erh smell, which is interesting and I like it. The aroma is mild, most likely though because this tea I am tasting is old (2018) and was in my pantry for a while. For a tea that is not at its freshest, it was still absolutely amazing! I feel good after drinking it. Also, just checking the S&V website, the price is also incredibly reasonable ..read more

I was very pleasantly surprised by this. I just finished disrespecting another fruit flavored tea from Upton, so I was not expecting much, but this is, as advertised, very fruity and tropical. It is made with sunflower, papaya, maracuja, and pineapple (both natural bits and in the form of flavoring). The aroma is quite floral, and the taste is a juicy mix of tropical fruits. It is a fine, summery cup, either cold or hot (with added sugar and/or honey of course ..read more

My review here is decidedly mixed. Since this isn't a bad tea, folks who are interested in the fair-trade/organic aspects may find this a good alternative to the relative dearth of such certifications among Irish Breakfast bagged teas. Being less refined, more of a troglodyte, I just want tea to taste good regardless of its ribbons and certificates. It does, but I can get better for what I paid. The box was about $5/20 as an H-E-B store in Texas. Not bad in these inflationary days, but not great eit ..read more

This tea seems pretty good quality and has a nice, but mild green tea aroma. The price is reasonable and the tea is good enough that I think the value is fair. It tastes like a classic green tea however it is slightly too bitter and astringent for my taste. I have a lower threshold for these qualities than some and it is normal for a green tea to be like this so I think its just a matter of personal preference and I won't judge too harshly ..read more

With a name like mango indica, I don't know if I am supposed to smoke this or drink it (lol). The aroma is nice, strong, and fruity, so I give them credit for that. But the flavor is dominated by - surprise, surprise - Lifesavers candy-type artificial fruit flavor. When will I learn? It is time for me to stop purchasing teas like this. Fortunately I only got a small sample bag ..read more

This is pretty robust for a Ceylon tea, with some tannin bite and a woody aroma. It was quite a bit better with milk than with lemon and sugar, which surprised me. With just a little vegan milk added, it makes a very good breakfast style tea. My intention in buying this was to mix it with a Darjeeling for iced tea (mimicking Upton's iced tea blend, which I like). Overall, it is not superb, but it is certainly worth the modest price ..read more

Disclaimer: I am trying this tea that has been in my cupboard for many years, possibly up to 10, so this rating may not be a completely accurate representation of what this tea would be like fresh. Black tea often mellows with age and loses aroma, and I would say this tea is certainly mellow but yet I still like it. It is a nice comforting cup of black tea; it has no distasteful qualities and I am able to enjoy the drink. Unfortunately, the cacao flavor doesn't come through very much like advertised so I w ..read more
