THE FUTURE OF FASHION [SHOWS]

Let's be blunt. How will fashion shows progress in the name of COVID-19? Sterile, password-protected private livestream, interactive, 3D virtual-reality, 360 degree view, hologram, Black Mirror-like fashion shows? In the current world of eco-friendly Teslas, an increase in consciously produced clothing brands and large corporations such as Gucci leading the way in their Equilibrium promises, there was no denying fashion itself was already shifting to an industry that was kinder to the earth [or so we think]. With this tragic pandemic in hand, the silver lining is that the globa ..read more

Winter calls for a dilemma; To sacrifice warmth for style or not? There was never a definitive answer to this never-ending repetition asked year after year. Do you wear the expensive clothing that has style and seemingly looks warm but isn't made out of wool - instead polyester? Taking a walk in the rain never seemed less appealing. Photographed in front of the legendary Smith & Caughey's building, outfits that don't require the scarification of your body heat on show and at the ready in-store. See-Now-Buy-Now culture took its world stage when couture houses decided to back away from its ..read more

Do you ever picture yourself in a Summer Christmas; one that's not defined by the media as a 'white Christmas', but the real-real that's Smith & Caughey's. Sun shining brightly with all family outings at the beach is a little more accurate in defining a Christmas Down Under. [THE] ESSENTIAL

When you were younger, people tell you to have a 'signature' fragrance, something for people to remind them of you, something to stick to. Why not do more of that - "Trends come and go, seasons come and go", but what does that even mean? The phrase gets thrown around in a negative connotation, it doesn't always mean what it means on the surface. Trends come and go, but what the individual values and feels isn't something that can be timestamped. The 'business bag' was a trend when C[é]line took number one at helm years ago, hoops were big in the 90s - Yes, trends come and go, but no one says ..read more

Since almost the beginning of my Fashion Week days; around 2015 or so, Wono Kim had always been what we call the essential and epitome of perfect NZFW street style photographer - Always on the sidelines, almost invisible to the crowd that are so hungry for images of their outfit they picked out weeks ago for that very day. No stress, all were taken, including full denim ensemble picked out that very morning. Possibly one of the kindest photographers out there, the below and above photographed by Wono Kim for GRAZIA 2018. Continue for outfit details. Top: Taylor and Levi's x KARLA Pants: Lev ..read more

NZFW Day 2; This is one of those rare Fashion Week years, where we have decent weather for the majority of the shows, something must've made Mother Nature happy. Fingers and toes crossed, decided to wear something a little out of the blue but still that palette that comes naturally. Short skirt and classic schoolgirl length socks- but make it fashion. Here I present to you the look for New Zealand Fashion Week Day 2. The clearly absent Day 1, reigns taken by duty that calls elsewhere. // Images Photographed by Wono Kim for GRAZIA and Rebecca Zeyphr Thomas for VIVA. Sunglasses: Karen Wa ..read more

From what I thought would be a week-before-fashion week routine turned into a month long one thanks to Smith & Caughey's; It’s taken my whole life to figure out what it takes to bring my skin and general health to a steady wavelength. It’s taken me years to realize what’s consumed reflects on the outside. In this career driven modern renaissance of photographing this, editing that and posting there, there's 'no time' to start thinking about inner health, let alone what's on the outside. An eye opening experiment showed me there's always time. What with the experiment? It took a record-bre ..read more

Up until it was a common-sense quote, "Quality over quantity" had been thrown around, attached to that is the most valuable meaning. Then what comes after that, "Affordable over expensive"?; The dream girl and guy that exists is one that knows how to evaluate what is truly worth your time and money - The rise of what seems to be Lysts' hottest brands and items is a true testament to what society values today; that pattern of spending money on pieces that would stand the test of time and wear is what seems to be driving that 'expensive' side of 'quality'. But would you rather spend your hard e ..read more

These are those. Shot within the hidden gem in Smith & Caughey's floor high up the ground with the New York state of mind, here I present to you a shoot for my beautiful friends at Smith & Caughey's featuring my stand out pieces since forever ago.
