HABITS THAT TRANSFORMED MY HEALTH/WELLBEING | PART 2: NUTRITION |

I’m going to come forward right now and say that for a good two years, I was that vegetarian (eventually vegan) that paid minimal attention to her diet. There was no planning. No thought. No weekly HelloFresh box to ensure a bit of balance. Just me and my fondness for bagels. Granola. Any form of breakfast for dinner. I’ve been into fitness for years now, so you could say “I got away with it.” Although that’s a very poor way to look at nutrition and self-fuelling, especially in the long term.  It took me embarking on the #75HARD Challenge earlier this year (more on this here), t ..read more

Before I begin writing this post, I want to address the elephant in the room. Can we just take a moment to acknowledge that I haven’t said a peep on this platform in almost a year and a half?  Wow.  That’s not all. The last post incentivised a well-balanced holiday in Bali. In hindsight, that really didn’t age well. If only that version of me could have foreseen: in a month’s time, none of us would be travelling at all. Nevermind eating watermelon from a floating tray.  Nice try, Kenzie, but you missed the mark. Like, entirely.  There is something slightly redeeming ..read more

How-to: plan a balanced Bali holiday

Before we booked our recent trip to Bali, AJ and I were discussing how exactly we wanted to travel, and what our next holiday would look like.  I told him that I did — I truly loved being cooped up in a caravan with him, travelling down the Great Ocean Road in the middle of winter. But now, I said, it’s time to actually relax. I knew I needed a break. I needed to come back from a holiday feeling more rejuvenated than when I left. And because on previous trips I’d either worked, or absolutely filled my schedule with activities, I knew something needed to change about ..read more

I took my first holiday for nearly 2 years. Here’s what happened.

So, uh, that wasn’t meant to happen. Almost two years ago, I landed in Melbourne. I switched from plane to driver’s seat. And I accidentally removed the breaks from my car entirely (I’ve never been confident with motor vehicles).  Okay, so it wasn’t a total fluke. It’s not as if someone shoved me in their suitcase and boom, there I was stranded in a new city, with absolutely no autonomy over my next move. In fact, I think it was a case of too much autonomy. You give this to someone with a YES attitude and it can be dangerous. I’ll let you know that first-hand. Two ye ..read more

Note: the following post involves a sponsored partnership with Fantastic Services cleaning services. There are many perks to being self-employed. Contrary to common belief, working from home is not necessarily one of them. In the endeavour to make progress (as opposed to Netflix and chill), you’ll find that mixing work with play never does come easy. In fact, I’d argue it’s one of the greatest tests for your own self discipline. Uncertain whether working for yourself is a feasible option? Setting up shop at home is a great way to find out.  I’ve encountered several mental challenges ..read more

Note: the following post involves a sponsored partnership with Fantastic Services cleaning services. Almost every occasion I sit down to write, I’ll start with the title. The original driver for this piece read “Redefining Home.” On reviewing the last two posts on Currently Loving (and also on concluding this one), I realised the title needed slight alteration. Incidentally, these posts surround the same topic of re-invention or redefinition. And honestly, I’m not all that surprised.  With growing up comes a lot of lessons. But the journey also demands far more unlearning tha ..read more

The Power of Re-Invention

It’s been a little while, has it not? Honestly, I needn’t ask. I know. This absence was both an active and an unintentional one simultaneously. At the beginning of the year, I came to this blog with an intention to write every week. As my schedule sped up (it always does), this became an unnatural and even slightly irrelevant duty. I love this space. This is where Currently Loving is and will always reside. With that said, in-depth revelations do not occur daily. Sometimes, not even weekly. If this blog follows my personal development, then it ought to be said, that shit takes time ..read more
