IoT is engineered to perform as a system
of large (static and mobile), medium, and small but digitally-enabled, unified
devices. The significant feature of this expression of digital technology is an
unconstrained capacity to transfer data through the network without the need
for manual intervention or human agency.
Smart cities are obligatory to acclimate
to the anxieties of urban growth. IoT technology lies at the heart of a smart
city, enlightening the lives of the citizens within it. The IoT-enabled smart
city might reroute traffic about overcrowding in real time, robotically

I love to run. I do
it almost everyday. When the sky is clear and the sun is bright I run to feel
nature and when it’s not not so cheerful outside I run on my treadmill.
However, I don’t run only for pleasure, I am serious about it. As a marathon
participant, I need to constantly track my running speed, distance, heartbeat
and many more, and there comes my trusted aid, my activity tracker. This small
device when wrapped around my wrist, tracks every exercise i do. Monitoring
heart rate at various times and during various activities, tracking the
distance covered by me, counting the calories sp ..read more

Internet of things (IoT) is not new to the world populace. It has been around for quite some time but garnered sudden popularity due to its numerous applications in various sectors. Internet of Things can be defined as the amalgamation of objects of differing characteristics. These objects do carry intelligence such as communication abilities, powerful computing abilities, user interface as an identifier. Data communication and information exchange are carried out by these objects through direct or indirect communication mediums. Indirect communication is possible due to the implementation of ..read more

As
per the growing demand of IoT (Internet of Things), allied devices have pierced
towards each and every aspect of day to day life starting from health, fitness,
smart home automation, automotive and logistics, to smart cities and industrial
IoT. IoT was modestly described by Jacob Morgan who stated that broadband
internet is widely available and most of the devices come with Wi-Fi
capabilities and sensors with them. The devices generate a ‘storm’ around a
common Wi-Fi. As IoT is complex, there are many moving parts to be considered
before venturing into any IoT project.

Introduction
Soil Moisture Sensor is widely used sensors in the Smart Farming and by using a sensor like YL-69 or YL-38, you can transition into IoT in Agriculture. One of the great applications of Soil Moisture Sensors is to create an Automatic Irrigation System which can irrigate the farm based on the Soil Moisture.
In this Iot Project: Soil Moisture Sensor Arduino Tutorial, we will take up YL-69 Senor and Connect it to NodeMCU and transmit the data to https://thingsio.ai cloud and build a beautiful dashboard to monitor your Soil Moisture and extend it later to build an automatic irrigati ..read more

In things thingsio.ai tutorial we will introduce ESP32, the newest line of ESP modules from expressif systems. I had some time over the weekend to play with ESP32 and it is fantastic much more powerful than ESP8266 chipset.
ESP32 Overview: ESP32 is what I would call as a Hybrid IoT Chip, it has WiFi and Bluetooth build in with a powerful processor with upto240 Mhz Clocking, which is more than enough for any IoT applications
We will use Arduino IDE with ESP32 and add in DTH11 Temperature and Humidity Senor and connect to thingsio.ai, which is I call marriage made is heaven because it covers s ..read more

With a rapid development of all IoT-related technologies, the number of available solutions both on a hardware and a software side also grows exponentially. IoT market became rather vast and its often hard to pick the right infrastructure for your project. And it is very important to make the right decision while you are still designing the project itself. The wrong choices might lead to a bad situation in the future, where you’ll encounter some impassable wall.
One of the most crucial elements for the IoT solution is a IoT platform your project would run on. There are lots of IoT platforms on ..read more

Three IoT Devices to consider before starting your next IoT Project or Solution
IoT is about connecting the sensors to the internet or more commonly cloud. Once needs to have a device which acts as a bridge between the sensor and the cloud.
NodeMCU:
It is popular among the hobbyist and most widely used for the student and college projects. This is also the cheapest IoT device available out there costing under $3. Nodemcu is based on ESP8266 platform and can be readily used with Arduino. The good thing about Nodemcu is that hobbyists can work all popular Arduino IDE to code the system and conn ..read more
