I recently took a trip Out East as New Yorkers say to the Hamptons. I stayed in East Hampton and the easiest way I think to get their was via train. We took the cannonball train which leaves at 4 on Friday's and goes directly to the Hamptons. It is a super packed train so in my opinion book your seat ahead of time so you don’t have to literally run for a seat. Once we got to the Hamptons we were in walking distance from the town of East Hampton and the beach. We also took the time to explore Sag Harbor which was a cute change from the chains of located in East Hampton. Check out my favorite sp ..read more

My NYC Beauty Secrets

Heyday I love a good facial and it’s no secret the nyc air takes a toll on one’s skin so this is where I book a monthly visit to get rid of all the city living off my face. They have 30, 60 and 90 min facials. It is like a facial bar with experts that give you glowing skin. I’m all for a hotel facial but this easy in and out concept makes it perfect for whenever I need a quick hydration or pore cleaning fix. 2. IMD Beauty Spa If you haven’t tried a lymphatic drainage massage all I can say it is not for the weak. This intense massage really pushes out the toxins in your skin. Focusing on cel ..read more

I am a die hard tea drinker but I always like to venture out and try a cup of coffee every now and then. Take a look at my top 5 coffee places to try while you are in New York City. 1. Starbucks Reserve Roastery: If you love coffee then this place is a coffee theme park right in NYC. They have everything from coffee desserts to alcohol drinks. Roastery is new to the city and only the second one in the USA, a 23,000 sqft right in Meatpacking. They even have a coffee bar for to go orders or can sit and enjoy the space complete with fireplaces and couches. 2. Felix Coffee: Right on Park Ave in M ..read more

The Whitby Hotel

As you know I love afternoon tea. This time I wanted to try another place since my go to is always The Plaza. It is hard finding a tea place in the city that accommodates gluten free. Well not all true they do offer gluten free but no sandwiches, scones or pastries which are the best parts of afternoon tea. So far The Plaza hits all of that to a tea (get it haha) but as I said wanted to venture out. The Whitby has a whimsical decor, a mix of modern and English cottage. They off two menus, one regular the other healthy which is gluten free, vegan and only refined sugar. So that is me, me and al ..read more

Spending time with family, skiing and catching up on sleep is the best way to spend Christmas in my opinion. I love being in Northern Michigan since I can walk around the small towns of Petoskey and Harbor Springs checking out the local shops and drinking the best coffee not from a chain. I grew up going there year after year every summer and weekend's in the winter. It was our getaway and just full of magic. That feeling of home. They have a couple places to go skiing up there. Our favorite is Boyne Highlands mostly cause they have the best hot coco. But they also have Boyne Mountain and Knob ..read more

Flamingo Beach

One of the top things I wanted to do once I booked my trip to Aruba was to see the Flamingos. Weirdly they are only at the Renaissance Hotel on their private island just off the coast. If you are staying at the hotel this island comes with your stay, but since I was at the Ritz this trip you can buy a day pass to this island or book a massage at the ocean front spa. Either way it gives you a day pass to the island, complimentary boat ride to get there and a drink and water raft ticket. The island is beautiful you take a nice 10 minute boat ride over from the main hotel. Once you arrive it is a ..read more

I recently went to Aruba "One Happy Island" this past December. Aruba is a unique Dutch Caribbean island off the coast of Venezuela. They speak Dutch and Papiamento, a type of Spanish that mixes Portuguese and Dutch. Aruba has a rich culture and never a gloomy day. They have a cute town with high end luxury stores that connect to the Renaissance hotel where Flamingo Beach is at, then a boardwalk that you can walk the beach in front of all the hotels. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton located at the far end of the island. They have segways on the beach bringing us fresh cocktails and pool after poo ..read more

LA in the Fall

I went back to LA this fall. I like taking quick trips there eating at my favorite restaurants, grabbing tea and seeing the sites. I use to live there for a couple of years so I know my way around town but just like New York it is always changing on what are the best places to go. This time I stayed at The Beverly Hills Hotel. I have always wanted to stay there, I owned the pajamas already. I do have to say I was very disappointed after my stay. I heard of all the glitz and glam of their historical past and loved their modern renovation of palm leaves and pink stripes everywhere. It was always ..read more

Nothing better than spending time with family over Thanksgiving. I went back home to Michigan were we spent the whole long weekend in Detroit. We filled our time with sports, sports and more sports. We went to the Lions football game, a Pistons basketball game and last but certainly not least a Red Wings hockey game. My family loves sports and watching them live is just the best. We also kept busy with my little pup Bella walking all around town checking out the Christmas decorations. One of the coolest things I've seen a city do for the holiday's is the lodge. The Cadillac lodge, yes sponsore ..read more
