A couple of years back, a indie director named Ricky Umberger contacted me about his new Found Footage release – The Fear Footage. This movie turned out to be quite a good watch, and I was enthusiastic about any further releases Umberger may release…
Fast forward about 18 months, and Ricky got back in contact with me about his sequel to the first movie – The Fear Footage 2: Curse of the Tape.
Now, I should point out that I’ve had this movie for about a month now, but work commitments have taken me all over Europe during the holidays, and I’ve only got around to viewing it this week.

I’ll start this off by throwing a thanks the way of Randy for introducing me to this Amazon Prime indie – it’s a movie I would not have come across otherwise…because I think the search algorithm on Prime is absolute gash.
Anyway, it’s a little bit of a gem for this year, as there really haven’t been that many ‘good’ Found Footage movies released this year (it’s been a pretty bad 12 months in this genre of horror!).
I’m not saying that this is great film, but I am saying it’s one of the more interesting releases of 2019…

Another British Found Footage movie (cue the trumpets!)…
But no, alas the celebrations need to be cut short – this movie ain’t worth getting worked up about.
Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to sit through a large number of really pretty decent UK-based Found Footage movies, although I am slightly biased, but this is not going to be added to the list I’m afraid.
I’ve actually just saved you the time of reading through this article, but if you want to find out why this movie was left wanting, read on…

First things first – thanks to all the people that reminded me what the title of this movie was. If you read my last post, you’ll know that I watched the film and forgot to take note of it’s name…subsequently completely forgetting what it was called (a rookie mistake I seem to pull off time and time again!).
Anyway – cheers for the heads up – I wouldn’t have remembered it myself (I was stuck on The Woman In The Woods).
Not a great movie, but much better than a lot of titles that I’ve had to sit through this year. It has that traditional woods/forest/Blair Witch vibe to it, which is always m ..read more

I should lay all my cards on the table here and admit that I was going to cover another movie today, one I watched a couple of nights ago…but I can’t seem to find ANY sort of record of it anywhere?
I THOUGHT the film was called The Woman In The Woods…but it turns out that was wrong. Been on IMDb and I’ve searched about – I actually read the reviews on IMDb BEFORE I watched the movie – no sign of it anywhere now?
Did I dream it…or have I just got the fucking name wrong again?
I knew at the time I should have written the title down!
Anyway, it’ll come to me…but I don’t know when.

A little bit late with this one, so apologies yet again – I actually have a backlog of about 20 movies to get up on here at the moment, but finding the time is a bit of a squeeze!
Anyway – Gags The Clown.
Sounds pretty shit doesn’t it?
Well, that was my initial feeling towards it as well.
It’s listed as a ‘Comedy, Horror’, but I have to be honest with you here – it ain’t really that funny.
Some good points – some bad points.
Let’s take a closer look…
The Plot

Found this one on Sockshare the other night, and was pretty stoked at the time because I was stumped for something to watch (I’d just finished the fourth season of Peaky Blinders and I was in need of a horror fix to compensate!).
Never heard anything about it beforehand, and the movie bio suggested it was a Found Footage title, so I went for it.
let’s take a closer look…
The Plot
Four college classmates are hunted by a ruthless drug cartel hitman when they inadvertently record a murder while shooting their student film.

Got my mate Celine De Santis to thank for this one (see – I’m starting to remember people’s names!!!), as I had overlooked it on numerous occasions thinking it was a straight horror. Well it’s not, it’s actually a half decent Found Footage romp.
If I had to lay my cards on the table I’d say that this is a kinda FF version of The Strangers, which was a pretty cool movie back in 2008.
As with most indie films in this genre, it’s currently got a low score of 3.9 on IMDb, but if you like Found Footage, you’ll probably get some sort of fix off this!
