Saturday at WEDGE in Warren (RI) Open almost a year and a half, this charming cottage features a plethora of gourmet cheeses as well as local sips (mocktails from Kristi’s Kraftails for one) and provisions like honey (first time seeing Little Rhody Beekeeping) , butter (I honestly couldn’t leave without the sea cultured BUTTER), crackers, jams, syrups and spreads (a vertiable condiment-palooza), and even their own merch. Walking into Wedge on Water Street — especially on a sunshine day — feels like a stress-free getaway from daily life. (Who couldn’t use some of THAT right now?) We were there ..read more

The Pawtucket Eatery For Some Of The Yummiest Pizza In Rhode Island

I’ve had my eye on A Guy & His Pie (Detroit, deep dish style pizza in Pawtucket, Rhode Island) for quite a while, but just couldn’t seem to get over to their kitchen in the Lorraine Mills on the right days.  For some reason I kept thinking Sunday when it really should have been SATURDAY (more about their hours of operation and such in a second). Anywho, the hubs and I pulled up to their space on Mineral Spring this past Saturday afternoon right when they opened at 1pm and there was already a line of folks wanting to get their orders in for this thick without being heavy pizza tha ..read more

Photo Courtesy Of Me Did Ya Know… St. Clair's (no one ever actually refers to it by the full name St. Clair Annex by the way) on Bay Street in Watch Hill has reopened for the 2024 season. And it is indeed some of the yummiest ice cream in not only Rhode Island but also the whole entire East Coast. Photos Courtesy Of Patty J Yours truly has seen a lot of articles (some more extensive and highly detailed than others) and polls on the topic and I am here to tell you that this is the most unscientific and totally subjective recommendation you're going to come across: You see, my fam and I h ..read more

The Pies From This Rhode Island Pizza Truck Are So Tasty

Love At 1st Slice Can I just tell you that the pies from Anna’s Vesuviano (a pizza truck that appeared on the local food scene about two or three yrs ago) are outstanding? These are no run-of-the-mill, ordinary pizza pies. Must be because Chef Anthony was in Naples, Italy for something like two years studying cheese and pizza making. Their Tomato Paradise, made with summer tomatoes, herbs, and fior di latte (a tippity top shelf cow’s milk cheese), was seriously one of the tastiest pizzas I’ve ever eaten in my whole entire lifetime on this planet. The taste and texture of those super fresh toma ..read more

My Bestie Tried The Brand New Japanese Deli In Downtown Providence

When the office foodie says “you have to try the new place” grab your coat and make a beeline, you’re in for a treat! The new place being Maruichi Japanese Food & Deli. Sushi was the goal for this midweek lunch. Maruichi opened it’s doors at 113 Washington Street this past Saturday (the site was formerly Rory's.) The plan was to grab some sushi and come right back to work but there was so much to explore! While the ready to eat sushi is right by the entrance, all the appealing, colorful displays drew me further inside. I found myself at the cafe and ordered the Chicken Katsu Don. It didn ..read more

We Stayed At This Beautiful Farm In Bristol That's A Popular Wedding Venue

this week in Bristol This stunning property is a wildly popular wedding venue and I have shopped their weekend market that takes place in the BARN — but I had no idea how charming the Governor Bradford House is. It was built back in 1745 and George Washington actually visited in 1790. Thank you so much Mount Hope Farm for inviting me and my husband to stay! We stayed in the completely cozy Nathaniel Byfield Room. Fun Fact: He was one of the founders of Bristol way back in 1680. (Very easy to fall down an American history rabbit hole when researching him.) And don’t even get me started about t ..read more

A Delightful Restaurant In Westerly Has Reopened For The Season

Because it's officially open for the 2024 season… Long before it was featured in Vanity Fair, in 2016 for its 100 anniversary, the Olympia Tea Room was the place for eats and drinks in Watch Hill. With its art deco interior (the pink walls and ceiling and that black and white retro tile floor) and paintings by the co-owner lining the walls, it feels almost like stepping into an old Hollywood movie, as though Bogie and Bacall (with maybe Peter Lorrie or Sinatra in tow...Bogie was after all the head of the original Rat Pack) are going to glide thru the screen door any second and slide into a bo ..read more

All Photos Courtey Of Us & From Our 1st Visit To Mapleville I’m a native Rhode Islander (born and raised on the West End of Providence) and honestly had no idea whatsoever that there was a place called Mapleville in our fair state. Not until I happened upon a place called Mapleville Farm online, did I start to do a little digging and find out that it is in fact a village (lil Rhody has a whole lotta villages) in the town of Burrillville. Wikipedia makes mention of a post office, fire station, and library, but if you’re looking for a solid reason to take a Rhode trip over on a Saturday or ..read more

Ring In Patio Season At This Wickford Restaurant That Just Reopened

Chews And Views In The Wick Tavern By The Sea in Wickford is open for its 19th season, and that’s the best news I’ve had all day. You can sit on the brick patio that overlooks Wickford Harbor this week because it’s so darn nice out. (Stacey Doyle & I did photos on the water there in 2018. A friend had offered her rowboat and we gleefully accepted.) One caveat before we go any further: Reservations are essential because the wait for a table on any given spring (or summer) day or night can be lengthy. I mean, why chance it? Also, if you would prefer to sit outside, you definitely want to boo ..read more
