What are some summer activities/events that one should not miss in Oxford?

I recently moved to oxford as an international student and I am honestly at an awe by its aesthetics. However, I was wondering if there are any activities/clubs/events where we could enjoy some summer activities or if it's a thing here (budget friendly options for a student) or if there's some club we could join for something outdorsy and also get to meet new people. Anything (from clay or pottery clubs to music festivals) is appreciated. I just want to enjoy & relax here, meet new people and not miss on any authentic summer festivities while I am here since we have a break coming up. Our ..read more

Hi all, We are a couple in our late 20s and are strongly considering a move to Oxford from where we currently live (Edinburgh) as we want to be closer to family in London, Hampshire and the South West. My husband runs an online business from our home, which he can do anywhere, and I am currently at home with our 19-month old, but I may go back to work as a doctor in the next few years, although we do hope to have more children in the near future. We really value our 'city centre' lifestyle in Edinburgh and enjoy having lots to do and being able to walk everywhere. We also value somewhere we c ..read more

Do I have to have A-level grades above 3As in order to apply to Oxford?

Hello there! I am an international student who is interested in pursuing engineering. My predicted grades for math, IT, and chemistry are A*, A, and B/C respectively. However, I don't have a physics grade. Do you think it would be possible for me to study engineering without a physics grade? Additionally, I am wondering if it would be a good idea to retake the chemistry exams in October/November as I am confident that I can get a grade above A. Thank you for your help! submitted by /u/Dizzy_Noise5355 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
